Today’s Scrip-Bit 17 May 2007 Job 5:17-18, Proverbs 3:11-12

Job 5: 17-18

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth, therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty. For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; he woundeth and his hands make whole.

Proverbs 3: 11-12.

My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, neither be weary of his correction. For whom the Lord loveth, he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Today is two for one day! I just could not resist putting these two bits together. If both Job and Solomon could say it, it has to be true. I believe J.C said sometime that if we could honour our earthly fathers who at times treat us badly, so much more should we honour our Heavenly Father who only has our best interest at heart. Don’t feel too bad when he corrects us. It’s usually for our good. Love.
