Proverbs 6: 20 – 23.
My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother. Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is the light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.
Ole Solomon certainly knew how to get to the heart of the matter. That is exactly how we should keep the Lord’s word; bound upon our hearts and tied around our necks, so that it shall guide us like a lamp in the dark night of our worldly walk, keep us safe and peaceful in slumber, and converse with us and correct us when we veer off the straight and narrow path.
It’s not an easy road that the Christian walks, but if we study and abide by the Lord’s word, we’ll do just fine. Happy walking Friends!
