Today’s Scrip-Bit 18 July 2007 Genesis 6: 6 & 11

Genesis 6: 6 & 11.
And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and grieved him at his heart. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

Has it changed any since the time of Noah? Not really. It has probably gotten worse, because there are many more people on planet earth, with way more sophisticated weapons of violence. I am sure that it still grieves the Lord’s heart today, just as much as it did back then when He was forced to bring that devastating flood upon the earth, to try and wash away man and his iniquity. He obviously did not succeed then. So what now? What shall He do in the face of our wickedness? Let’s change people, else the next time, as He promised – and we know that He always keeps his promise – the next time might soon be here…the time of hellfire and brimstone! Wake up people and smell the roses! It doesn’t make sense to destroy ourselves and this wonderful earth over stupid greed and ignorance.
