Colossians 3: 12-15.
Put on therefore as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering. Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body, and be ye thankful.
That’s Paul’s prescription for successful Christian living. It’s not easy, for everything he says we should do, goes against the very nature of man: be merciful, kind, humble, meek, longsuffering, forgiving, and on top of all that charitable and loving too. Whew! It’s certainly a rough road to hoe.To crown it all, we must also let peace rule in our hearts and be thankful, two things we are very poor at. With the crazy times we live in, too many of us believe the lie that we’ve got to be on the go all the time, thus our spirit never has time to be peaceful and calm, and thanks…hn! That’s a word many of us have forgotten. But if we truly believe in J.C. then we know that He will give us the tools to do the job, but we’ve got to get up and do it. So come on fellow believers, let’s try and adhere to the prescription, so that we can become stronger and walk a better walk. Amen!
