Today’s Scrip-Bit 30 July 2007 Psalm 127: 3-5

Psalm 127: 3-5.
Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the  womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Thanks Lord! Just felt that today was a day for giving thanks, and after having a spirited discussion with my two daughters this morning, even though we did not see eye to eye – what else is new eh – I decided that it should be a day of thanks for children, and Psalm 127 immediately came to mind. Children do try our souls at times, but then they can certainly lift our spirits at other times. Hopefully the latter occasions are more the rule than the exception. But remember the old people said you make the children, not their minds. Anyway parents, let’s give thanks for the fruit of our wombs, and be happy that our quiver is full of beautiful arrows. And children, please don’t be ashamed of your parents: please stand and speak with the enemies in the gate. As Always…Plenty, plenty LOVE!
