Today’s Scrip-Bit 9 August 2007 Job 27: 3-5.

Job 27: 3-5.
All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God in my nostrils; My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit. God forbid that I should justify you: till I die, I will not remove mine integrity from me.

Oh People, Oh People what strong, powerful words from Job! They must certainly have put a brilliant smile on the face of the Almighty. Even though his friends were castigating him left, right and centre, and he had not done anything to really deserve the tribulation that befell him, he stood strong in his convictions about his God: Whilst there was life and breath and the Spirit of God in him, he asserted that he would not speak evil or deceitful words. And I like the part where he waved off his fair weather friends without trying to justify the stuff they were saying about him. The most important part though is where he declared that he would not lose his integrity, come what may. That’s key, my friends, because once we lose that spark of decency, it’s extremely difficult, if not impossible to regain. We’re never treated the same again. As Believers, it is therefore our responsibility to live that way. Let’s decide, right here and now, to keep our integrity intact, come what may, and make The Most High proud of us. Plenty Peace and Much LOVE!
