Today’s Scrip-Bit 15 August 2007 Genesis 6: 5-6.

Genesis 6: 5-6.
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

So God cleansed the earth of both man and beast through The Great Flood, leaving only Noah and his family and a pair of all the non-human life forms. But nothing much seems to have changed from way back then. Mankind is still as wicked as ever, possibly more so, because he has more stuff to work with. In spite of all the medical, scientific, economic, social and whatever other advances we’ve made over the years, mankind is still existing in a mostly negative situation. Almost all of the institutions we’ve set up for our supposed good have been infiltrated by greed, envy, strife and unimaginable corruption. So much cruelty, suffering and poverty in a world filled with enough to go around: Brother killing brother; children having children, wars and rumours of wars… Don’t you think it’s grieving God again to see His wonderful handiwork gone astray, corrupted? Who knows what He’ll do next? Remember He promised the fire next time…and He keeps his promises. Much LOVE!
