Nehemiah 2: 20.
Then answered I them, and said unto them, the God of heaven, he will prosper us: therefore we his servants will arise and build:……….
When the Israelites were taken captive away to Babylon and Jerusalem was left in ruins, the Prophet Nehemiah was instructed by God to go and rebuild it. And He indeed paved the way for him to do so, despite detractors from amongst his own people. Now that is how we’ve got to react in this time of sorrow and disaster. In spite of all the destruction wrought by the elements, we’ve got to have a strong faith and believe that Our God is a mighty Being, who will prosper us, and give us the necessary strength to rebuild, perhaps not bigger, but certainly better. However, we can only do that if we are willing to put in a lot of physical and emotional effort. As Paul keeps reminding us, it’s not only a matter of faith, but also of works. One without the other is no good. It’s got be a combination of both. Together they’re unbeatable. So Friends, let’s cool some of the talk, because talk is quite cheap, and instead get up off our rear ends and do some walking nuh. Let’s build God’s Kingdom here on Earth, so that at the end, he can say, Welcome, thou good and faithful servants! Amen!
