Isaiah 33:22: For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king: he will save us.
Our God is an all purpose, powerful Being: First He created us, from the dirt He spoke into existence. Then He gave us laws to live by; TheTen Commandments, broken down into two major components; LOVE Me, LOVE one another. As a logical consequence of that, He oversees our behaviour and administers whatever justice He deems necessary; a justice though that’s always filled with mercy and compassion, because that’s His nature. He’s also our earthly ruler and King, looking after our worldly affairs, guiding and directing our footsteps along the paths we choose to tread. In human terms, I guess we can view him as a Benevolent Dictator; Benevolent being the important aspect of the title. We all know He has the power to do whatever He wants, but most of the time He chooses not to interfere in our lives, gives us the freedom to make our own choices. And when we ignore His guidance and make mistakes, He’s only too willing to shower us with LOVE and mercy, if we sincerely admit our faults. Above all else though, He’s our Saviour! He loved us so much that He sent His one and only son, J.C. to die on the cross to redeem our sinful souls. Who else would create us, give us freedom of choice, then, after we’ve turned against Him, still provide a way out for us? Only Our God; Jehovah! Mighty and Magnificent in every aspect, and most worthy of our thanks and praise. Friends, please, let’s give Him, His Due. Much LOVE
