Psalm 68:4. Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. Ecclesiastes 3:13. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
It’s a double whammy this Labour Day weekend. It’s only fitting to give thanks and praise to Our God, for all the good things He’s done for us. Remember the days when the ordinary worker was so underpaid and overworked (we still are) but by uniting, raised our standard of living, Sadly though, we are regressing in the ever onward, misguided rush for ‘cheapness’. Confucius say,"good thing no cheap, and cheap thing no good." Let’s not take advantage of the ordinary working man, on whose straining back, like the worker bees and ants, that our prosperity is earned. Let’s try and share it equitably. A fair wage for a fair day’s work, must be our motto, not a subsistence wage for an excessive amount of toil, while the upper echelons get an exorbitant portion of the rewards. Remember, capital, without labour is useless and vice-versa. It’s all part of the eternal circle. Friends, our standards are falling, in everything. Let’s try and raise them nuh. Employers, please pay a fair wage. Workers, please give a fair effort. The lowest common denominator is seldom the best, and the difference between a so called first and third world country is simply a matter of standards; you lower them, you become third world; you raise them, you become first. Then it’s a matter of consistently keeping them high. Let’s all try and do that please. Much LOVE…Much Diligent Working…and Equitable Rewards for Our Labour.
