Revelation 21:1-4. And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and first earth were passed away: and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying; Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Oh Believers, what a beautiful picture! What a comforting, reassuring vision! What a glorious beginning! That’s just how J.C promised it: When He comes again, the old world will be no more, He’ll cast it and the savage, disgusting enemy out. Instead, there’ll be a new Jerusalem, pretty as a picture, like a bride a on her wedding day. And God will dwell with us; we’ll be His people, and obviously He’ll be our god. And in His ever merciful and loving kindness, He’ll alleviate our misery. He’ll wipe away all our tears. And wonder of wonders, there’ll be no more death, or sad, gory stuff like sorrow and crying, and pain, because Infinitely Everything would have banished all those negative things to the nether world forever. It’ll be a New Dawning, of a New Day! We’ll get a wonderful opportunity to start over from scratch with Our Saviour. Lots of singing and dancing and praising and thanksgiving! Friends, we’ve got to hold on to that promise, envision that vision for ourselves. It’s our Lifeline! If we intend to follow J.C, we’ve got to believe that He’ll come again as He promised, riding in His golden chariot amongst the billowing clouds, surrounded by a Heavenly Host, singing Hallelujah! Christ is come! In the meanwhile we’ve got to wait patiently, but be prepared, with a song of praise in our hearts and obediently do His bidding, for only the Father knows when that time will be. Much LOVE… Hope to party with all of you on that Glorious Salvation Morn!
