Today’s Scrip-Bit 24 November 2007 Psalm 67.‏

Psalm 67:  God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us. Selah. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God, let all the people praise thee. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. Let the people praise thee, O god, let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

It’s one of those days when I just asked for guidance, opened the Good Book, saw Psalm 67 and decided to use it all. It’s a song of prayer and praise. Bruh David is in good form; strong voice. He’s asking the Most High to shower us with mercy and blessings, so that the whole earth would see and recognize His awesome power. But Friends, it’s a two way street: In return for those blessings, we should be glad, sing for joy and shower Him with praise, because He’s such a righteous judge and governor. And know too, that when we sing and praise Him, He blesses us, the earth multiplies her yield, we live in peace and harmony. It’s a never ending circle: We praise Him, He blesses us; He blesses us, we praise Him! The U.S recently celebrated their Thanksgiving. Hopefully an appropriate amount of thanks and praise was offered. Today, I’m saying a special ‘Thanks Lord!’ for achieving my three score years… hopefully at least another ten to go (smile). It’s been a long, arduous road, with many obstacles along the way, but overall, it’s certainly been adventurous and interesting. Could not have done it without His help though. He’s brought me through it all, safe and sound…well, disregarding the usual infirmities of aging. That’s why I’m saying another mighty big, ‘Thanks Lord!’ And as Bruh David shouts out in Today’s Bit, not once, but also twice: ‘Let the people praise thee, O God: let all the people praise thee!’  Friends, He’s been awfully good to us, so let’s give Him His rightful due nuh. Much LOVE! …and plenty, plenty thanks and praise!
