Today’s Scrip-Bit 30 November 2007 Psalm 61:1-4‏

Psalm 61:1-4   Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever. I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah!

And all God’s people said, Wow! (smile). Just imagine nuh, one of the most powerful men that ever lived, placing such amazing trust in the Most High. Bruh David certainly knew where his help and strength came from, he knew where his bread was buttered. Without the Lord, he was nothing. He knew that when his enemies came against him, his only hope was in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. That’s why he could cry out to his God in prayer with such sincerity. He even shows the extent of his faith: wherever he is, even the ends of the earth, whenever his heart is overwhelmed, he’s going to cry out in prayer. Oh my dear Friends and family in Christ, that’s the attitude we need to have in these rough times. Cry out to our Heavenly Father wherever we are, whenever out hearts are heavy and anguished. That’s exactly what He wants us to do; come to Him in times of need, and, like Bruh David says, He will lead us to a rock that’s higher than us, a place of safety, where the troubles of the world won’t cause us worry and despair. He is a shelter and strong tower for us too, if we let Him. And where else is better to abide than in His tabernacle, or hide, but under the shelter of His all encompassing wings, experiencing  His tender care and loving kindness? Oh Friends, please, let’s Turn to Him; let’s Cry out to Him whenever the cares of this world threaten to get the better of us. Cause He, He only, is our Rock and Strong Tower!  Much LOVE!  ….always remember, when the cares of the world drag us down, the Most High will lift us up….if we ask Him to.
