John 14: 1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.
Oh Friends, what a heart-warming bit of encouragement! From our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, no less. ‘Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.’ Ahhh! Can’t you just feel the weight of the world fall right off your weary shoulders? (smile). But People, it’s for real; very consoling and reassuring. We take comfort from lesser statements of lesser mortals, how much more comforting it is to hear the immortal Son of God, say to us. ‘Let not your heart be troubled ‘ eh? Plenty, plenty consoling and comforting, reassuring and encouraging! Jesus is talking to His disciples, explaining what He expected of them, and what was to be, prepping them for His ascension. He was at the top of His game, and went on to make the most awesome promise. ‘I go to prepare a place for you.’ His disciples were obviously baffled by His statement, as evidenced by Thomas saying in Verse 5. ‘Lord, we know not whither thou goest.’ But today Friends, we aren’t baffled, not in the least. We know exactly what He meant and where He was going: To His Father’s house in Heaven, the one with many mansions, where He would begin preparing a place for us, and all those who’ve ever believed in Him, so that when He comes again in all His Glory and Majesty, He’ll take us Home to be with Him forever; right through eternity. And if you don’t believe me, a lesser mortal, then Friends, listen to the words of the one and only, Jesus Christ; Son of the Most High, Redeemer of Sins, Saviour of His People, Light of the World: ‘I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.’ Amen! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Give thanks to our Wonderful Saviour! The ole fella’s fired up people. (smile) So stop worrying and fretting. Let’s just get right down to the nitty gritty and do the work we’ve been called to do. He will always be there to help us. Gospel Truth People! Much Much LOVE My Friends!…remember… promises of the Most High…the Most Faithful…are never broken…
