Today’s Scrip-Bit 11 April 2008 Isaiah 54:13-14‏

Isaiah 54:13-14    And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children. In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression: for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

What an awesome promise Friends! Isaiah’s talking about the Lord’s everlasting LOVE for Israel, but though the Lord makes great promises, we’ve also got a part to play for them to come true. He says, ‘…and great shall be the peace of thy children.’ However Friends, before they can obtain that peace, something else must first be done. ‘And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord…’ Yes people, they won’t obtain peace and prosperity until they learn, we teach them about the Lord; His LOVE, goodness and mercy, and the benefits of walking in obedience to Him. Friends, are we teaching our children about the Lord? I sincerely hope so. But judging from the lack of respect for the law, man and God, shown by too many of our young people, plus their unbridled affection and lust for material things, I’d say we’ve failed in that respect, doing them a terrible injustice, because it’s our duty to pass down the Word to the next generation. Peace does not come with their overwhelming desire to possess all the new toys and fashions, especially when the enemy constantly bombards them with the message that you must have these things to be accepted. It’s obviously the wrong message. But what are we doing about it eh? Are we fighting back? When youngsters feel they have to beat and bully others for their cell phones, i-pods, ugly shoes and clothing, something is wrong. And though the enemy has control of the media spreading the evil message, we as parents have to do something to mitigate the spread of that perverse mindset. And the most effective tool is the Word! It might be a bit late for some of the older ones, but it’s never too early for the young uns. Let’s do our bounden duty and teach it to them nuh, at the same time also living it, giving them a decent example to follow. Remember, the Word is not only meant to be spoken, but also put into action in our lives. If we don’t do that, the second part of the promise won’t come true. We won’t be established in righteousness, nor far from oppression, fear and terror. In fact, just look at the current state of our world. Righteousness is sadly lacking, while we are consumed by fear, terror and oppression. It’s possibly the most fearful era of mankind, hn, in a supposed time of peace. Why is that? I suspect it’s partly because the adults fostering the negative mandate now in vogue, weren’t taught sufficiently about the Lord as children. It’s what we learn in childhood that provides the foundation for our later life, and if it’s negatively influenced, then no doubt, that negativity will impact our adult years. But it’s not too late Friends. If we are serious about winning back our children to God, it can be done, though it will take a lot of work. Remember, with our God, anything is possible. So if we really LOVE our children, and our God, let’s revitalize our lives and the world around us nuh, no one else is going to do it. Let’s plant the seed of the Word early in the young ones, and not give up on the older ones already gone astray. It’s the only way we’ll receive the promise of peace, and prosper in the Lord. Much LOVE!…please, let’s mould the children early…teach them the Word…at a tender age…
