Jeremiah 32:22-23 And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey. And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them.
That Bit is a sign from our God, my Friends, cause I wasn’t familiar with it, but on scanning the Good Book my eyes alighted on those words underlined in green, and I immediately discerned the Lord’s desire. (smile) But seriously Friends, they dovetail very nicely with yesterday’s discussion: The Lord giving the Israelites rules to live by in the Promised Land. A few hundred years later, Jeremiah’s bewailing his people’s disobedience; ‘but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do:’ Ah Friends, what a sad commentary on the chosen people. How many times, from Joshua to Jeremiah, did they fall short of the glory of God eh? Several. They obviously never learned anything from the forty years of wandering in the wilderness. And Jeremiah continues wailing, ‘therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them.’ Jerusalem was under siege, ‘…and the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass…’ Vs. 24. Oh people, what’s wrong with us eh? Are we so ignorant, dumb, short-sighted, arrogant, or whatever, that we can’t see we’re headed in the same direction as the disobedient Israelites? The Western World, once so proud and mighty, is slowly shrinking, becoming a mere shadow of itself, now owned, lock, stock and barrel, by the East. Why? Because we have forgotten our God. When we were growing and becoming strong, we were a God fearing, family oriented people; we went to church, gave Him thanks and praise, raised our children in the faith, and we ourselves lived fairly decent lives, compared to now. Once we became powerful though, we forgot who brought us to the dance; fooling ourselves into thinking we’d gotten there under our own steam. But Friends, please remember, we only plant and water, it’s the Most High God that gives the increase. Oh people, the Lord doesn’t expect us to be perfect, but He certainly expects better than we’re currently doing. His words to Joshua after telling him about the Rules, were, ‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor dismayed, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.’ We’re not following that instruction either. We’re not standing strong and courageous. We’re allowing newcomers of diverse beliefs, to dictate where and how to teach Christ, even to eliminate Him completely from places like our schools, courts and other public institutions. Our children have little knowledge of Him, but know all about the enemy. Friends, please realize, that every time we remove, or lessen the influence of God, from any facet of our lives, we’re hammering one more nail towards our sure demise. Can a society built on Christian principles exist without them? No! But that’s where we’re headed. So, unless we want our society to crumble like other godless ones, then we’ve got to wake up, NOW, and reclaim it from the enemy. Oh Friends, if we’re true followers of Christ, then let’s return Him to His rightful place in our society nuh, so that our children’s children can be proud of us. Much LOVE!…unless we return to God…and soon too…there’ll be no children’s children…
