Proverbs 3:25-26 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Absolute words of wisdom and faith for believers to live by Friends! Sol possibly heard it first from his father, Bruh David. ‘Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.’ (Ps.91:5-6) Peter also exhorted his readers, concerning suffering and reward. ‘But and if ye suffer for righteousness sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts…’ (1 Pet.3:14-15) Yes people, we ought not to be afraid of any sudden terror and threats, nor the onslaught of trouble from the wicked. For what can man do to us eh? They can kill the body, but certainly not the spirit. As true believers, we must place our entire confidence in the Lord; ‘sanctify the Lord God in our hearts,’ set Him apart, place Him first. And as Isaiah commands; ‘neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.’ (Isa.8:12-13) Yes Friends, if we’re to be afraid at all, it’s of our Lord, for He’s the most powerful Being in existence. However, the Lord doesn’t want us to fear Him in that manner, but to hallow His Holy Name, hold Him in awe, with a healthy respect and reverence. If we walk in obedience to Him, we have absolutely nothing to worry about. He won’t use His awesome power to wreak havoc and destruction on us. That’s only reserved for the unrighteous and the ungodly; those who believe the enemy’s lies and follow his abominable ways. And if we happen to suffer in Jesus’ name, then Friends we’re most definitely blessed. ‘Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that LOVE Him.’ (Jam.1:12) So you see people, whichever way we turn, we’re covered. The Lord’s always in control, always has us in the palm of His hands. All we have to do is have faith, stand strong, place our solid trust in Him, do His will, ‘and he shall keep thy foot from being taken.’ He will not allow our feet to be caught or trapped in the enemy’s snares. And if by chance, He allows us to suffer, for some reason we don’t understand, then as Bruh Paul declares; ‘Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus, shall suffer persecution.’ (2 Tim.3:12) But he also said, ‘It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us.’ (2 Tim.2:11-12) So there we have it Friends, in black and white, from several stalwarts of God, who all heard, believed, trusted, experienced, suffered, and eventually received the promised crown of life. Let us therefore, go forth and do likewise. Much LOVE!…fear not…I am with you always…even till the end of the world…
