Today’s Scrip-Bit 13 November 2008 1 Corinthians 8:6‏

1 Corinthians 8:6    But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Oh Friends, Bruh Paul never spoke or wrote truer words! There is but ONE GOD! To believers, unbelievers, atheists, agnostics, whatever you call your self, please note carefully, inwardly digest and always remember; THERE IS BUT ONE GOD! All others so termed are either fakes and/or scoundrels, used by men for their own evil purposes. As the prophet Malachi contends: ‘Have we not all one Father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?’  Very good question Friends? And we’ll highlight it by quoting a report out of Haiti, the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere, who never seem to get enough help to alleviate their misery, not even when they were recently hit by a few hurricanes in a short space of time. The report states that a three storey building, in the slum district of Petionville, housing a school, collapsed last week, killing eighty odd children and adults. The tragedy was blamed on poor construction. It claims neighbours have long been complaining that the school was unsafe. Some have even been trying to sell their homes since a section of the school collapsed eight years ago. And who owns it? A Protestant priest, who’s since been taken into custody by the police. Obviously everybody’s blaming everybody else, including the archaic construction codes that building inspectors don’t enforce. Sadly, this slum sits right below a fairly wealthy enclave of suburban Port-au-Prince, the capital. It’s heart breaking stuff like that, which must have driven someone to coin the term, ‘Man’s inhumanity to man, makes countless thousands mourn.’  And isn’t that the gospel truth people! Meanwhile, on the other side of the same page, the headline read: ‘Monks in punch up near Jesus’ tomb.’ The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, revered as the site of Jesus’ crucifixion, burial and resurrection, is shared by some six religious sects. Recently the Armenian sect were marching to commemorate the sect’s 4th century discovery of what they consider Jesus’ cross. But the Greek clergy objected to them marching without one of their own present, because the procession would subvert the Greek claim to the Aedicule; the ancient structure built on what’s supposed to be Jesus’ tomb, thereby giving the Armenians a claim to the site. The Armenians refused to have a Greek monk in their procession, and when the Greek Orthodox clergy attempted to block their way, a wild brawl ensued, until police intervened. It seems the sects regularly scuffle over matters of turf and influence. The report also mentions that the Israeli govt. wants to build a fire exit in the church, as there’s only one main door, but they can’t, because the sects cannot agree on where to put the exit. Hn! And we wonder why others laugh at, scorn, belittle and spurn Christianity. It’s because of those selfish, very unChristian attitudes. People must consider us fools and hypocrites when we spout all the LOVE and togetherness in Christ etc, then treat our brothers inhumanely and fight amongst ourselves over petty stuff. What ever happened to that One God that made us eh? Oh Friends, He’s still there on His throne! ‘One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.’ (Eph.4:6) It’s just His wayward, selfish children who are behaving silly, not walking in obedience to His word. He’s still the one ‘of whom are all things,’ from whom all things come. ‘For in him we live, and move and have our being…’ (Acts 17:28) Yes Friends, all that we are and will ever be comes from and depends on God. In and of ourselves we are really nothing. It’s only when we acknowledge God’s Divine Supremacy that we truly become somebody, with the ability to accomplish the impossible by hitching our wagon to His ever-glowing, triumphant Star. Hn, hn! I was just advised to stop here for today. It seems there’s so much more the Lord wants to convey through me, that if I continue, the Bit would either be too long, or too condensed, thereby losing some of the message. Recently though, I’ve noticed a strange phenomenon: I’m naturally long winded, now everybody don’t shout ‘Yeah!’ at the same time, but it seems whenever I write on a Bruh Paul topic, I tend to get like him, complicated and even more long winded. Like his zealous spirit infects me. But who’s complaining eh? (smile) Anyway Friends, just remember; there’s only One God, the Father of all things and all people, in whom we trust and faithfully believe. So keep on keeping on. Much LOVE!…somebody must have made us and this beautiful universe…yes…God.   To be continued.
