Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgement: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Sorry Friends, but ah got to say Wow again! On second thought though, ah not sorry at all nuh, because every time I read that description of our God, it just blows me away; His omnipotence is so overpowering! He’s so majestic and magnificent! He’s all that anyone can ask for in a God! That’s why I sincerely hope we’re all leaning against the ROCK; that’s it’s our chosen method of support at all times, good and bad. If not, we’re playing a losing hand in a game with serious consequences; putting our salvation, our eternal life in certain jeopardy. Now why wouldn’t we choose the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to be our foundation stone, our head corner stone eh, when He’s the mightiest of the mighty, and ‘His work is perfect?’ Moses said it in his song, and Bruh David concurred. ‘As for God, his way is perfect; the way of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. For who is God, save the Lord? And who is a ROCK, save our God? God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.’ (2 Sam. 23: 31-33) Yes Friends, our God is perfection personified! ‘For all his ways are judgement; a God of truth.’ Now get this straight people; from the very beginning of time, His Word’s been tested on a gazillion occasions, and not even once, not one, single, solitary time has He disappointed anyone who’s put their wholehearted faith and trust in Him and His promises. Sing Hallelujah people, for such an amazing, true and trustworthy God! Isaiah said it thus: ‘he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth.’ (Is.65:16) And Jeremiah proclaimed: ‘But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king…He hath made the earth by his power; he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.’ (Jer.10:10 & 12) But Moses said it best: ‘Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that LOVE him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.’ (Deut.7:9) Rejoice and shout Hallelujah Friends! For that means He’s still keeping covenant and mercy today with those of us who LOVE and obey Him. But that’s not all: He also ‘repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.’ (Deut.7:10) Oh people, a God after mih own heart! He doesn’t go behind people’s backs, like so many of us; He repays face to face. So be careful. And please note Friends, that despite all His wrath and judgement, He’s ‘without iniquity.’ There’s not a single sinful bone in His immortal body. Wow! What a God! And if you don’t believe me, listen to Elihu, Job’s buddy. ‘Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways. Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgement.’ (Job 34:10-12) Oh people, our God is as true as they come. His hallmarks are truth, righteousness, mercy and justice. Why do you think He sacrificed His only and most beloved Son, Jesus Christ for us worthless sinners eh? He’s all powerful and if He wanted could have just waved away our sins. But no, in His court of justice, that was unthinkable! Justice needs to be both done and appear to be done. Very few of us would sacrifice our sinful sons, but such was the Lord’s LOVE for us, He sacrificed the one unblemished lamb in His fold, Jesus, for us. Oh Friends what can be more heart-warming and thought provoking and encouraging than that eh? Nothing! That’s why I’m encouraging us all to choose the ROCK of All Ages, the Most High God Jehovah, to lean on, trust in and be faithful to. Sensible people usually choose the best to put their money and lives on. And friends, there’s no doubt; it’s an incontestable, undisputable fact that the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the BEST! Let’s therefore be sensible nuh, and put our faith, trust and hope in Him. He never has, and never will let us down or disappoint us. Much LOVE!…the smart bet…it’s always on the Lord…
