Jeremiah 31:25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
Yes my Friends, through the grace of Almighty God, to whom we offer praise, thanks and worship, we’re continuing where we left off two days ago, if I can remember what I planned to write. (smile) Anyway, Good Friday is over now: Jesus has been crucified and laid to rest in an earthly resting place. The next movement in the wonderful story is being eagerly and excitedly awaited all over the world; Easter Sunday morning, when Jesus defeats death and rises majestically from the grave, so that we can all joyously shout; ‘Glory Hallelujah! He is risen!’ My brethren, in a sense that’s what the Lord is saying to all of us right now; that all the tired, down trodden, depressed, emotionally destroyed souls will soon be refreshed and uplifted. ‘For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.’ We finished the last episode by imploring us all to slow down and take stock, both of our surroundings and ourselves and see the senseless stress and destruction in which we’re entrapped. Our world’s in turmoil, with upheaval and dissatisfaction rampant everywhere. But be sure of one thing my people; the Lord God Jehovah, the giver of life and mercy still reigns, and all this too shall pass, for He’s not a God of vengeance, but of LOVE, so He won’t destroy simply for the sake of destroying. Any destruction He allows will have a stated purpose, usually to punish increasing sinful disobedience, and there’s no doubt my people, that over the last decade or so, we’ve become increasingly disobedient and tuned out God and His dictates, preferring to follow the evil enemy and his shallow lustful ways of the flesh. Strangely though, during that period many people seem to have become more spiritually minded or aware, but unfortunately it never manifested itself sufficiently in the society, else we’d probably not be in our current bind. But there’s always method to God’s madness my Friends. Sometimes we don’t discern it, but I believe He caused that spiritual awakening because He needed to teach us a harsh lesson on disobedience, but in His vast wisdom, realized that if everybody was totally crushed and beaten down, there would be none left to start the revival after the punishment. (smile) Just the ole fella’s simple reasoning. And now that He’s rained on our disobedient parade, He’s fixing to lift us up once more, desiring us to again believe and act in accordance with His godly principles. ‘And it shall come to pass, that like I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down and destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build and to plant, saith the Lord.’ (Jer.31:28) Yes my people, that’s what the Lord has planned for us. And as believers, filled with His Holy Spirit, we’re needed, expected to be at the forefront of the rebuilding process; building on a solid foundation that’s the Lord God Jehovah. We can’t afford to build on the enemy’s sandy, fragile foundation again, otherwise the same fate will eventually befall us. And when we begin rooting out the enemy and returning the Lord to His prized place in our lives, we’ll be pleasantly surprised at the phenomenal turn around both individuals and society will accomplish. Obviously it can’t happen overnight, but the Lord has raised us up spiritually for that purpose; that of rebuilding our society and His Holy Church. And when we begin believing and acting like God is on our side, then it’s going to spread, because actions speak louder than words, people follow actual examples quicker that plain dictum. And with that movement back to the Lord in full swing, we’re going to be satiated and refreshed with God’s goodness, LOVE, mercy and forgiveness and be able to say like Jeremiah; ‘Upon this I awakened and beheld: and my sleep was sweet unto me.’ (Jer.31:26) Yes people, not too many of us can say that now, but when we’re in sync with God, that is what happens. And wise, ole Sol, solidly backs that up. ‘When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.’ (Prov.4:24) Oh my Friends, isn’t that good to know? But everything now depends on us. God has given and He’s taken away, now He’s ready and willing to prosper us again. He’s promised; an unbreakable act. Now we have to follow through and do our part; channel our hearts and minds towards Him and actively set good works in motion. And if we do that sincerely, then we are also assured of Sol’s wisdom. ‘Be not afraid of sudden fear (terror), neither of the desolation of (trouble from) the wicked when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken (caught).’ (Prov.4:25-26) So let’s set down stakes in the Lord my Friends, to show that we’re serious, so that we can build that confidence and not fear when disaster strikes. Rebuilding is usually hard and harsh, but it builds confidence, character and faith in Jesus Christ, without which we’re like small boats tossed on stormy seas, and we don’t need that calamity anymore. Much LOVE!…to build to last…build on Jesus…
