1 Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
Oh Friends, it’s time once again to joyfully shout: ‘TGIF! Thank God it’s Friday!’ So let’s chant our Friday mantra nuh. ‘Oh Lord, thanks for getting me through another week of work! It hasn’t been easy, but with your generous help, I made it through. Now please help me to get sufficient fun, fellowship, rest and relaxation in these two short days off, so that I can be renewed and refreshed in soul, body and mind, to go back out there and do it all over again next week, furthering your kingdom with each step I take. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen’ Yes Friends, it’s been a roughish week for many of us, but as believers, we have no real reason to fret and worry because we’re in the same privileged boat like the Thessalonians when Bruh Paul, in exhorting them to stand strong in the faith, so rightly informed them: ‘Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.’ Oh mih people, there are no truer words in the Good Book! For if nothing else, our God has proven Himself to be faithful from day one, right up to now. Look at all those people who served Him and were faithfully rewarded. People like Abraham, Moses, Bruh David, Joshua, Nehemiah, Ruth, Daniel, his buddies, and many more too numerous to mention! Oh Friends, you can count on one thing, put yuh head on the block for this; that if the Lord calls you to do something for Him, then He will stand beside you. No doubt about that! Hn! And I have to laugh because the Holy Spirit just jogged my mind with a ‘you too;’ subtly reminding me of my own position in writing this Bit. Unfortunately that never entered my thought processes in the planning stages, so I have to say; ‘Sorry Lord.’ But my brethren, I can surely attest to the fact of God’s faithfulness, for He called me to write the Bit, and you all know my misgivings, but from the first day He’s stood staunchly by me, helping me to write something sensible for over three and a half years. Wow! Okay, we won’t question the sensible part. (smile) It hasn’t always been easy, and I’ve often despaired when time seemed to be running out on me, but Friends, every time, every single, solitary time, the Lord has come through for me, as those of you who have been with me from the beginning can attest to. So if there’s one testimony I can surely testify to, it’s our God’s faithfulness! Bruh Paul could also testify mightily on that, for without God’s faithfulness, he would never have survived the slings and arrows he suffered, or be able to write all the stuff he did, much of it from prison. Oh thank the Lord for His everlasting faithfulness Friends! Isaiah too proclaimed the Lord’s loyalty: ‘…Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the Lord that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel…’ (Is.49:7) Yet it is Bruh Paul, who, possibly more than anyone else, drove the engine of our God’s steadfastness. Hear him: ‘God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.’ (1 Cor.1:9) And again to the Corinthians: ‘There hath no temptation taken (overtaken) you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear (endure) it.’ (1 Cor.10:13) And all God’s people gratefully sang out: ‘Glory Hallelujah!’ Oh mih people, how can we not truly LOVE, steadfastly serve, loyally worship and revere such a magnificent and magnanimous God eh? It just boggles my imagination that humans can turn to other supposed deities, when the ONE TRUE God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has shown His invincible power and authority and kept all His promises since the beginning of time! Oh Friends, no human can point out any supernatural feats, or solid promises, that any other supposed deity has ever done and faithfully kept, for they are all false gods, mere idols with no power whatsoever. And all we who believe in the Holy Trinity know this for a fact, that’s why we believe! Oh Friends, I’m going to end here now, though the Spirit is stirring me up. (smile) The adrenalin is flowing, but we’ll leave the rest of what I want to say for tomorrow, God willing of course. There’s so much that can be said on the subject. And we’ll close with some words of wisdom from Cousin Sol: ‘A wicked messenger falleth into mischief (trouble): but a faithful ambassador is (brings) health.’ (Prov.13:17) Yes my people, ambassadors of Christ all, I’m imploring us to go out there into the evil, ungodly world and let our lights shine, bring health, rather than trouble to all we encounter, so that at the end, Jesus can greet us all with a: ‘Well done, good and faithful ambassador!’ Much LOVE!…to encourage faithfulness in others…one must first be faithful…
