Today’s Scrip-Bit 10 September 2010 1 Peter 3:11‏

1 Peter 3:11     Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace and ensue it.

Oh Friends, it’s Friday once more, and joyfully after a short workweek! Time to sing the TGIF Song: ‘Oh Lord, thanks for getting me through another week of work! It hasn’t been easy, but with your generous help, I made it through. Now, please help me to get sufficient, fun, fellowship, rest and relaxation in these two short days off, so that I can be renewed and refreshed in soul, body and mind, to go back out and do it all over again next week, furthering your kingdom with each step I take. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.’ Yes my people, it’s only mete and right to give thanks for the Lord’s undeserved grace that brought us through another trying week successfully. And today we’ll continue to look at the attributes and behaviour that we need to acquire and follow in order to lead a successful and righteous life. Our Bit solemnly declares: ‘Let him eschew (turn away from) evil, and do good; seek peace and ensue (pursue) it.’ We know that’s Peter slightly reworking Bruh David’s call long before, to: ‘Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace and pursue it.’ (Ps.34:14) Bruh David also declared in Psalm 37, the true state of the wicked, that God’s people ought to: ‘Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. For the Lord LOVETH judgement (justice), and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved forever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.’ (Ps.37:27-28) Oh Friends, we have two big promises right there: One, that if we stop doing evil and concentrate on good, we’ll live forever more. And we all know that’s true for believers with salvation and everlasting life. The second promise is that the Lord looks after those who are obedient to His will, while the wicked and their progeny are destroyed. What better incentives do we need to live a decent life, eh mih breddren? But if you desire more, then listen to God’s words, as spoken by Isaiah. ‘Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgement (justice), relieved the oppressed, (reprove the oppressor), judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.’ (Is.1:16-17) Yes Friends, that’s what the majority of our world needs to do, and they can only do so through our teaching and life example. If we stop doing evil and do good instead; if we seek justice for the poor and downtrodden, by reproving the oppressors and ‘downpressors’, defend the orphans, and make intercession for the widows, then the Lord will show us abundant grace and mercy, and others will eagerly seek and embrace the prosperous, successful life we’re leading. Remember my brethren, all our efforts on earth are slated for furthering God’s kingdom! Now, in terms of seeking peace and pursuing it, hear Bruh Paul to the Romans. ‘Recompense (repay) to no man evil for evil. Provide  things honest in the sight of all men. (Have regard for good things). If it be possible, as much as lieth in (depends on) you, live peaceably with all men.’ (Rom.12:17-18) And again, in Romans 14, he sincerely advises: ‘Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify (build up, encourage) another.’ (Rom.14:19) But unfortunately my Friends, that search for peace within and throughout our world, for some unknown reason, just seems to be continually evading us. Though many appear and claim to be talking peace, all we’re seeing is more strife, war and foolish destruction. Why is that eh? Is it because we don’t seriously want peace? Are we just basic warmongers at heart, and a wise but fragile thing like peace doesn’t conform to our way of thinking? Sadly my brethren, I don’t have the answers to these questions. However, we’ll close with some words of wisdom from the author of Hebrews, which will hopefully guide us along the right path, to the right destination. ‘Follow (pursue) peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God. Looking diligently lest any man fail (fall short) of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.’ (Heb.12:14-15) My people, peace and LOVE are the only two ingredients that will make our lives on this earth pleasant. As followers of Christ, we’ve been deputised to spread those things all over the world. So let’s step up our campaign a bit nuh. We desperately need to do so, because the warmongers are doing a good job of spreading their philosophy. It’s time we boosted our efforts to bring an evil, ungodly world out of the darkness it’s currently shrouded in, into the brilliant light of peace and LOVE, as personified by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Till we meet again tomorrow, God willing, may blessings be showered upon us, as we walk in Christ’s footsteps. Much LOVE!…only through the Spirit of Christ…can this world ever experience…lasting PEACE and LOVE…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 9 September 2010 1 Peter 3:10‏

1 Peter 3:10     For he that will LOVE life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil; and his lips that they speak not guile.

Oh Friends, it’s another day in the life, with the wind in somewhat of a hurry to get by my area, the past 20 hours or so. Where it’s been rushing to, only the Lord knows, but I certainly hope that it takes its time today, so stuff won’t be blown all over the place. (smile) And I want to apologize for a typo in yesterday’s Bit. Where the reference is James 2:26-27, it should be James 1:26-27. Please forgive the ole fella, for it seems he is only human after all. (smile) But it annoys me when I discover mistakes in the Bit later on, especially after having read them at least twice before sending them out. I take writing the Bits very seriously, and I don’t want someone quoting the wrong reference from it and thus doing damage to the Word. That means we also have to be very careful about what we write as well as what we speak. Yesterday we looked at some of the scripture dealing with the powerful but undisciplined tongue. Today we’ll continue looking at a few more. And first up is an entire passage from James that spells it out beautifully. Many of you will be familiar with it, but we’ll all certainly benefit from hearing it again. ‘For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude (likeness) of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.’ (James 3:7-12) Oh my people, those words of James are so true that they’re frightening! Very few of us have indeed been able to tame our tongues, and often what comes out of our mouths is so disgusting that it’s indeed poisonous. Bruh David says of the wicked in Psalm 140, a prayer for deliverance from evil men; ‘They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ (snakes) poison is under their lips. Selah.’ (Ps.140:3) And all of us know people, including believers, whose tongues are so sharp and poisonous that we quiver in shame and fear when they open their mouths. Then in Psalm 5, a prayer for protection, Bruh David shows us another aspect of the tongue: ‘For there is no faithfulness (uprightness) in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness (destruction); their throat is an open sepulchre (an open tomb); they flatter with their tongue.’ (Ps.5:9) Yes my Friends, if the tongue isn’t spewing forth bilious words, then it’s putting out sweet, sugar-coated words of flattery, which are often insincere and poisonous too. Now neither of those things should be numbered amongst our attributes. And unfortunately, as James points out, we also bless God with our tongues, then turn right around and curse man, who’s made in God’s image and likeness, with that same unruly, undisciplined tongue. This ought not to be so, my brethren; for you can’t have sweet and salty, or bitter and tasty stuff coming from the same place. But mankind is certainly a different kind of animal yes Friends! Our God outdid Himself when He made us. It seems like the signals in our brains get mixed up quite easily, and then we oftimes behave like a runaway freight train, out of control, saying and doing things we know we shouldn’t do or say. And sadly, my people, that kind of behaviour only leads to negative emotions and reactions like anger, violence, bitterness, hatred, strife, and eventually out and out war. Just look around our world today nuh, at the numerous theatres of strife that are currently in force. Many of them have been caused by inappropriate language, some of it even spoken centuries ago, such is the vengeful, unforgiving mentality of man. But Friends, the biggest and saddest fact is that NONE of them will be settled without peaceful, sensible words being spoken and acknowledged by all sides. Yuh know it’s definitely amazing the great conflagrations and total destruction a small organ like out tongues can cause! But by the same token, it can also engender strong feelings of peace and LOVE. Oh my people, as I keep saying, life isn’t rocket science, just basic common sense, of people living decently together. So why do we cause destructive situations that only breed strife and war eh, when we can just as easily use our tongues to bring about the much more productive and positive benefits of peace and LOVE? It’s not always easy, especially when others go out of their way to rile us up. And with this quick and easy age of communication, we’re now hearing every day about somebody, or bodies, getting in trouble for their untimely words. When are we going to learn eh mih breddren, that if we don’t have anything good or sensible to say, that we should just shut up? However Friends, that’s one of the reasons Jesus gave us the Comforter, His Holy Spirit; to aid and abet us along life’s rough and rugged road, and if we use Him the way we ought, we’ll eventually gain victory over that deadly, evil, flattering, unruly, undisciplined, poisonous tongue of ours. Wow! What a small organ with so many negative attributes! My people, like everything else in life that’s worth doing, we just have to dig down deep and keep working seriously at it. So let’s have hope and faith, and pray that we’ll be the conquerors we were meant to be. Tomorrow, God willing, some more of what it takes to live a good, long, prosperous life. Till then, may we all walk in peace and harmony, enjoying the many blessings of our heavenly Father. Much LOVE!…before talking…let’s first stop and think…then ask Jesus to guide our tongues…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 8 September 2010 1 Peter 3:10‏

1 Peter 3:10     For he that will LOVE life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.

Oh Friends, unfortunately the summer holiday season is over now, and we’re all back to labour or school. Gone are those ‘lazy, hazy days of summer,’ and we’re bracing ourselves for the beautiful colours of autumn and the chilly winds it brings. But in whatever state we are, please remember that our God is ALWAYS right beside us, patiently waiting for us to ask His help. Don’t forget we’re in a partnership with the Lord, so we’ve got to ask, to reach out, or else we’ll miss out on a lot of stuff that was set aside for us. Jesus instructed us to: ‘Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.’ (Mat.7:7-8) It means my people, that much of what we receive on earth, depends entirely on us; how much and how sincerely we ask, seek and knock. Likewise, for those of us seeking to have a good, joyful, long life, there are also things we need to do, to bring that to fruition. Peter said: ‘Let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips from guile (deceit).’ Now here in verses 10-12, Peter is actually quoting Bruh David from Psalm 34; the Lord hears the righteous, verses 12-16. And the first thing we MUST DO my beautiful Friends in Christ is to rein in our tongues, that small but ‘tallawa’ (mighty, powerful) organ, which causes most of the problems in our lives, in fact in the entire world. Oh mih people, if we would only refrain our tongues from half of what we say, our world would be a much-improved place. Cousin Sol certainly recognized the tongue’s power when he declared: ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that LOVE it shall eat the fruit thereof.’ (Prov.18:21) Meanwhile, James describes it this way: ‘And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature (existence); and it is set on fire of hell.’ Yes my brethren, if we LOVE to use our tongue, to run off at the mouth, as the saying goes, then we’ll surely pay the price for any insensitive or foolish remarks. Jesus said it thus: ‘For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.’ (Mat.12;37) For sure my brethren, our mouths can either lift us up or break us down. Consequently, there are ample warnings in the Good Book, re that small, feisty piece of flesh. Hear Bruh Paul to the Ephesians: ‘Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.’ (Eph.4:25) Now that quote is taken from Zechariah, way back when the Lord promised the restoration of Jerusalem. Listen to His words. ‘These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgement of (for) truth and peace in your gates. And let none of you imagine (think) evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and LOVE no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.’ (Zech.8:16-17) There you have it Friends, straight from the Lord’s mouth! James then came later on and wisely proclaimed: ‘If any man among you seem to be (thinks he is) religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain (useless). Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.’ (James 1:26-27) Oh Friends, that’s enough for us to contemplate for one day. Now please take all that we’ve said very seriously, for though it might sound frivolous, watching what we say is of dire importance, especially in these troublesome times, with the abundance of almost instantaneous and worldwide communicating devices. These potentially useful devices have sadly brought about even more talking than ever before in man’s history. And as I keep saying, the majority of us live boring, humdrum lives, so how much do we really have to talk about eh? And yet we yap a mile a minute! That obviously gets us to talking about things we shouldn’t and/or really don’t know about, meaning idle gossip and other people’s business. But again, please remember 3 Canal’s warning: ‘If you don’t have any business, then find some of yuh own. And stop minding other people’s.’ Nuff said mih Friends. Now one note of caution. All that we’ve said isn’t or won’t be easy to put into effect, but we definitely need to try hard to do it. And we’ll close with a word of encouragement from Epictetus, the Greek Stoic Philosopher (AD 55-AD 135). He reminds us that: ‘No great thing is created suddenly.’ And that’s gospel my brethren! Even our omnipotent God took six days to create the universe and all therein. We can’t shut up overnight, but with serious effort, with help from the Lord, we can improve substantially over time. So without further ado, let’s get to it nuh! It’s one of the biggest problems in our world. More tomorrow on the surrounding topics, God willing of course. Till then, please walk in peace and LOVE, and may the blessings of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, pour down on us all and keep us safe. Much LOVE!…God gave us two ears…and only ONE mouth…because He wanted us to hear…at least…twice as much as we spoke…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 7 September 2010 Jeremiah 7:23‏

Jeremiah 7:23     But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

Oh Friends, it’s Tuesday, and sadly the long Labour Day weekend is now over. Hope you all had a good time, but did not overdo it, so that you’re fresh, full of energy and vigour to go out and labour today, all dressed in your coat of spiritual armour, ready to fight Beelzebub to the death and bring about the furtherance of God’s kingdom. Remember, that’s our earthly purpose! Anyway, two days ago I likened our current society to that of ancient Israel, and we traced some scriptures where the Lord kept reminding Israel of His covenant with them, and the need to follow it, if they wanted to live long lasting, prosperous lives. Today, we’ll continue that topic. So what happened to Israel eh? The Lord, through Jeremiah, sadly declared: ‘But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imaginations (stubbornness) of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.’ (Jer.7:24) Now doesn’t that sound exactly like us, my people? A couple decades ago, when God was a mainstay, both in our society and our individual lives, everything ran much smoother. Life was much less stressful, and things were more on an even keel. But with the explosion of communication technology and the mad rush for worldly glory, both our lives and society began going downhill. Our basic morals and behaviour just fell apart. God then became a hindrance, rather than a help in our eyes, so we began removing His influence from all aspects of the society, and unwisely, from our lives too. We became like the Israel the psalmist, Asaph, wrote of: ”I am the Lord thy God which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. But my people would not hearken to (heed) my voice; and Israel would (have) none of me. So I gave them up unto their own hearts lust (desire, stubbornness): and they walked in their own counsels. Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways.’ (Ps.81:10-13) Yes Friends, since the Lord’s given us freedom of choice, all He can do is ask, and if we accept, welcome us into His ever LOVING presence. But if we refuse His invitation, He leaves us up to our own ungodly, evil and foolish ways. It obviously saddens His heart, so much so that He lead Isaiah to despairingly declare: ‘O that thou hadst hearkened to (heeded) my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea: Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels (body) like the gravel (grains of sand) thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.’  (Is.48:18-19) Oh my people, it’s the same rueful cry the Lord uttered when we began removing His Holy presence from our society and replacing it with Lucifer’s evil, immoral, devil worship of man made things and ways. ‘And the Lord said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem. They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers. Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil (calamity) upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.’ (Jer.11:9-11) And in the last twenty or so years, our society began falling apart. All that we held sacred and secure was either thrown out or simply ridiculed and relegated to obscurity, while man made idols, or men with severe Achilles heels were raised on high, given statuses much greater than that of the Most High God Jehovah, Creator, Keeper and Ruler of the universe. ‘Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry (out) unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.’ (Jer.11:12) Yes Friends, in these very troublesome and uncertain times, all the other things, people and places we’ve placed before the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob cannot help us to overcome the mess we’ve made. And unfortunately the situation seems to be deteriorating; what with all the partisan politics, the infighting and general disagreement between different levels and social strata of the society, between different nations with different religious beliefs and different social philosophies. My brethren, our whole world is in a state of serious turmoil brought on by our unwise behaviour in all aspects of life. We have strayed so far from Jesus’ basic commandment, that who knows what the eventual outcome will be? ‘A new commandment I give unto you, That ye LOVE one another; as I have LOVED you, that ye also LOVE one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have LOVE one to another.’ (John 13:34-35) Oh my people, that’s not rocket science, just basic common sense. Jesus didn’t even need to tell us that, because if we’re as smart as we think we are, we ought to know that the only way to live, long and prosperous is by living decently with each other. And I’m sure if we went around asking what’s the formula for a successful society, strife or LOVE, everybody would say LOVE! So how can we put that into practice now? Unfortunately Friends, if the world is going to improve any, then the onus is on us believers to act as the catalysts, the movers and shakers to do so, for Lucifer and his evildoers enjoy the strife and confusion we’re currently facing. And the first move towards that awesome day people, is for us to start bringing God back into the society and our lives, through our prayers, our godly lives and the strong fortification of our children’s minds. Yes my brethren, we can’t ever forget those little ones, for they are the future, and can only grow up to be what they were groomed to be. Oh Friends, I know that amidst all the confusion and hard times, these things we’re asking might seem and sound somewhat unfair and unrealistic, but remember though that with our God working in, for and through us, anything’s possible in this world. So, for the children’s sake, let’s buckle down and do our best nuh. We can, and will succeed if we work seriously with our God to do it. Much LOVE!…for our children’s sake…let’s build a wonderful world nuh…one filled with LOVE…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 6 September 2010 Acts 20:33-34‏

Acts 20:33-34      I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto (provided for) my necessities, and to them that were with me.

Oh Friends, it’s Monday! But a Monday with a difference! Happy Labour Day! We’re not going to sing the Monday Morning Battle Hymn due to lack of time and space, and I  have to renege on my promise to continue talking about obeying God, because this was too auspicious an occasion not to say a few words. (smile) Luckily for some, today is a holiday in honour of our forefathers, who toiled long and hard for a mere pittance for so many years. But on April 15 1872, in good ole Toronto, a group of dedicated workers put on a ‘Workingman’s Demonstration’ to protest against the incarceration of some typographic union workers for advocating a nine hour workday. Being a union member then was still a criminal offence in Canada. Then, on September 3 1872, another workers demonstration was held in the nation’s capital of Ottawa. Later on that same year, those harsh criminal laws were repealed. Some ten years later, on September 5 1882, the first Labour Day march in the U.S. took place in New York City, based on what had been done in Canada. Thus began the annual celebration dedicated to the social and economic improvement and progress of the working man. And the ole fella took part in many of them over the years, partying heartily down the Eastern Parkway. Remember them days Friends! They certainly were good times. But it’s important to realize my people, that the process from degraded, menial worker with no rights or recognition, to a fairly worthwhile member of society, hasn’t all been wine and roses. In fact it’s been more like the sweat and blood that the Lord promised our forefather Adam, when He kicked him out of the Garden of Eden. ‘In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.’ (Gen.3:19) And that’s exactly how it has been since mankind began hiring out his labour for reward. Those with the economic and military might have controlled the labour market from day one, with harsh, greedy conditions, either through slavery, feudalism, indentured servants, or very, very low wages for much heart and back breaking labour. Living in hovels and slums was once the norm for the hired worker. And though the Lord in His wisdom decreed: ‘Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work,’ (Ex.20:9) many of the wicked wealthy forced their workers to work seven days straight without any days off. The coalmining industry in the U.S. during the early 20th century is an example of some of the most hideous atrocities that man has ever committed against supposedly free men. You might have been free physically, but once you went to work for them, they owned you lock stock and barrel by having to live in their shacks and purchase your foodstuff from their shops. Your life was also considered very expendable and consequently mine safety was not of much importance. Unfortunately, it’s still like that in many places of the world today, China is a good example. Until the birth of the Trade Union Movement, less than two hundred years ago, the ordinary worker had no rights whatsoever. He simply did what the owner decreed, for whatever wage, or was summarily fired. And don’t think the Trade Union Movement was built easily either; much murder and mayhem took place, and many innocent lives were lost to build the rights and privileges we enjoy today. And believe me Friends, in this current economic downturn, if we allow the greedy, heartless owners a chance, they’d revert to the old ways in a heartbeat, without a qualm. Such is their greed and lack of respect for the dignity and well-being of their fellow man. But Friends, work is essential; both for us to earn a living and to be fruitful for the Lord. That’s why Bruh Paul specified to the Ephesians: ‘I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto (provided for) my necessities, and to them that were with me.’ Though he went around preaching a lot, he still worked as a tent maker and did not depend on hand outs from anybody. (Acts 18:3) He said the same thing to the Thessalonians: ‘Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought (free of charge); but wrought (worked) with labour and travail (toil) night and day, that we might not be chargeable (a burden) to any of you. Not because we have not power (authority), but to make ourselves an example unto you to follow us.’ (2 Thess.3:8-9) The verse after our Bit is equally as important. ‘I have showed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ (Acts 20:35) On a point of interest, the scholars claim that this is the only quote attributed to Christ that’s not recorded in the Gospels. Oh Friends, the labour scene has been atrocious from the beginning of time, possibly the best example of man’s inhumanity to man making countless thousands mourn. But as life is won’t to do, the pendulum swung during the mid to late 20th century right to the workers side. The Trade Unions became powerful, with their own big bureaucracies and began making excessive demands on the providers of work. They also fought amongst themselves for power and members, while the owners seeing their cost of doing business rising and their profits receding due in large part to labour costs, began moving their money and production to cheaper sources of labour, where they could re-enact their old inhumane ways and reap enormous profits again. Now the unions have fallen into disrepute, with many no longer considering them useful. But Friends, we still need them, we still need an organization to fight for worker’s rights, because the day we loose the say over our lives, is the day the wealthy capitalists will revert to their old ways, taking serious advantage of their workers. Friends, we cannot allow this to happen, though sadly, some are already laying the groundwork in these hard economic times by downsizing and having one person do the work of two, plus the lack of full time hiring, just mainly part time, contractual positions, where they don’t have to pay benefits. And don’t forget the all powerful business lobbies who grease the wheels of government to get their views enacted into law. Today it’s all about the needs of business, not the ordinary man, except when it comes to taxing him more heavily on less income, while the greedy, incompetent supposed titans of industry screw up the world, but get richer doing it. My Friends, the world has never been fair, and probably never will be, but let’s remember that our God is a good God, and will always be. Those of us who are lucky to be gainfully employed this Labour day, let’s be thankful and do them competently, as unto God, not man. And as Bruh Paul says, let’s help those who don’t have. Again, as unto God not man, for all we do should be to please our Saviour, not man. But please, don’t ever give up the fight for your rights and dignity as a human being and a worker. It’s the difference in being a serf or a proud, free human, able to sell his labour to whom he desires for a decent wage. Enjoy the Labour Day celebrations, but don’t forget we’ll always have a fight on our hands to retain what we’ve so arduously won. Much LOVE!…let him that stole steal no more…but rather let him labour…working with his hands the thing whish is good…that he may have to give to him that needeth…(Eph.4:28)

Today’s Scrip-Bit 5 September 2010 Jeremiah 7:23‏

Jeremiah 7:23     But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

Oh Friends, as I study the Word, I find myself comparing our current situation more and more to the rebellious times of God’s chosen people, Israel, in the days of prophets like Jeremiah. But to make useful comparisons, I guess we have to start at the beginning, when God brought the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt. According to Jeremiah, all the Lord asked them to do was: ‘Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.’ Oh Friends, all of us should understand that because it’s very similar to what our parents intimated to us at a young age: be obedient and we’ll look after you. And just like our parents continually chirped that principle in our ears, so did the Lord do with His chosen people, Israel. Let’s look at a couple instances: First up is the conversation at Marah, during the early part of their wilderness trek. They were dying of thirst, but could not drink the bitter waters that flowed there: ‘And he (Moses) cried unto the Lord; and the Lord showed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance (regulation), and there he proved (tested) them. And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.’ (Ex.15:25-26)  Then at Mt.Sinai, the Lord called Moses out of the mountain and said to him: ‘Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare (sustained) you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar (special) treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine. And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.’ (Ex. 19:3-6) Later on, the Lord was even more explicit, detailing the Ten Commandments, the ten basic rules He wanted His special people to follow. (Ex.20) In Leviticus, they were again warned about blessings of obedience: ‘If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do (perform) them; Then I will give you rain in due season…And I will give peace in the land…And I will set my tabernacle (dwelling) among you: and my soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.’ (Lev.26:3-4, 6,11-12) He gave them three divisions of blessings for their obedience; material prosperity, victory over their enemies, the assurance of God’s presence in their land, and the dignity of personal freedom. How much more can we ask eh? Then at Mt. Horeb, the Lord renewed His covenant with Israel. ‘And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone. And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgements, that ye might do (observe, perform) them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.’ (Deut.4:13-14) Moses followed this up by warning them: ‘The Lord made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.’ (Deut.5:3) So the younger people also became involved as they trekked through the wilderness. And there Moses reiterated the Ten Commandments. So everybody knew the rules and could not plead ignorance. Oh Friends, the same sort of exodus took place three hundred odd years ago, when many of our forefathers fled Europe to find both personal and religious freedom to worship God as they chose. Religious groups like the Quakers set up communities based on the same basic rules of the Ten Commandments. All of what was then considered the New World was eventually colonized by European nations, based on the basic premise and principle of the One True God, Jehovah, and all of them exhibited the fundamentals of Christian living. Slavery and the genocide of the native populations were conveniently set aside because they considered those people less than human, more like animals, due to their different and supposedly ungodly tribal customs. The bottom line though my people is that the New World was built upon the true and strong foundation of Christ and consequently all the warnings given to the Israelites also became applicable to those communities. And just like the Israelites, when they obeyed, they prospered. Oh Friends, let’s sit and think on those things today nuh. In our own minds, let’s consider the similarities and the differences of that ancient society and our modern one. Tomorrow, God willing, we’ll try and figure out how we got from there, a solid God based society, to here, a society in a sorry, godless state. Till then, may we all walk in peace and LOVE, as our Lord and Saviour Jesus desires. Much LOVE!…God is the ONLY sure foundation…on which a prosperous and lasting society can be built…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 4 September 2010 Deuteronomy 15:11‏

Deuteronomy 15:11      For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

Oh Friends, most of us have awakened today in a warm, comfortable bed, with a roof over our heads, food in the fridge or the pantry, clothes on our backs, free from serious illness and disease, plus several other amenities that make our lives fairly easy. But my beautiful Friends in Christ, do we realize that almost two-thirds of the earth’s estimated population of 6 billion souls don’t have most of the stuff we take for granted?  That’s four billion lost souls who can’t get a proper roof over their heads to protect them from the ravages of the weather. Four billion of God’s children who can’t even get sufficient junk food to fill their bloated, hungry stomachs, much less nourishing food to make them grow strong and healthy. Four billion of our brother’s and sisters in Jesus that don’t have clean water to drink and bathe with. Many of them have never even seen clean water. Obviously they can’t practice proper health and sanitation habits, even if they know of them, because of the aforementioned lack of clean water. Consequently, they live, hungry, malnourished, unhealthy, sick and diseased lives. Just think about the number of refugee camps there are around the world, the poor ghettoes, favelas, slums or whatever they’re called in different countries, where many are situated right next to or in big cities with a much better way of life. Consider the many poor communities around the world which have recently suffered natural disasters, like floods, famine, hurricanes, earthquakes etc. You name it, we’ve seen it recently. But what’s going to happen to those poor, unlucky, hapless people eh? What are we doing to help them? Are we doing enough? Are we sincerely obeying the Lord’s command, which our Bit so clearly and irrevocably states? ‘For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide (freely, generously) unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.’ Or are we simply paying lip service to the Lord’s command? I’m sorry Friends, but I get the distinct impression that we’re only paying lip service, because too many are truly suffering while so few are living high on the hog, with enough to still live high, but to also offer sufficient to alleviate the crushing poverty and misfortune of others. Note too that in all the disasters, it’s the poor who usually suffer the most. The rich are either able to avoid them, or rebound because of their wealth, but not so the poor. Just look at two recent disastrous events in our own backyard; Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and the earthquake in Haiti. Five years later, New Orleans is still far from recovered, even being a part of the world’s richest and most powerful nation. Why? Because most of the inhabitants were poor minorities, and even during the height of their need never got the treatment they truly deserved. A treatment say like that of the political capital of Washington D.C or any wealthy enclave would receive. The same goes for Haiti. It’s the poor who mainly lost what little they had and some eight months later, still can’t get proper aid and planning to rebuild properly because there’s no serious, long term planning or guidance at the top. The wealthy and corrupt politicians favour the status quo; keep the poor, poor. So despite the large amounts of help promised, precious little is getting through to those who really need it. And that’s the way it usually goes for most of these relief campaigns. For one reason or another, those who desperately need the help seldom seem to get it. Can you imagine the sorrowful plight of those millions of Pakistanis who were displaced by the recent flood? Hn! I shudder to think of what will happen out there! Most of them were poor to begin with, barely eking out a subsistence living. Now, with even that low level of livelihood gone, their future seems non-existent. That is unless we, the more affluent generously pitch in and help with whatever we can. My people, I know that there are all sorts of problems in doing so, that it’s much easier to put forward the theory than to accomplish it. However, I’m still convinced that we’re not doing enough, or as much as we can to help the impoverished and more unfortunate souls of our world. And I’m not even talking about only those suffering in far away places, but also about the poor and beggarly who live right around the corner from us. There’s no real good reason for so many people to be going around genuinely hungry, homeless and sick in our wealthy society. Oh Friends, the only reasonable solution seems to be us believers leading the way, doing what God commanded us to do long ago: ‘Thou shalt open thine hand wide (freely, generously) to thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land,’ Yes my brethren, if we want this world to change, to return to some semblance of godliness, then it’s us who truly believe in God that have to take the lead and perform those godly tasks, because the iniquity worker will not, since he’s only interested in his own  preservation and aggrandisement. I know too that many of us don’t have a lot, but remember it’s not really how much we contribute, but more how much of what we have we contribute. Like Jesus said to His disciples when the poor woman contributed two mites (a farthing). ‘Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury. For all they did cast in of their abundance (surplus); but she of her want (out of her poverty) did cast in all that she had, even all her living (her whole livelihood).’ (Mark 13:43-44) Friends, we don’t have to contribute all our living, but we can all do a little better than we’re currently doing. Let’s sit down this weekend then and take serious inventory of all that we have; whether it be time, talent, physical possessions or money, and try to find a way to help those in greater need than our selves. Remember the word for that is spelt, LOVE! And also that we’re the beneficiaries of the greatest LOVE that’s ever been shown: that of the Lord sending His only Son, Jesus to die for us when we were in a very sad plight of sinfulness. The least we can do is help someone else less fortunate than us, and in so doing, we’ll not only do God’s will, but also pile up rewards for ourselves in heaven. Now what can be better than that eh mih people? Absolutely nothing! Much LOVE!…to help another in need…through our unselfish actions…is to truly show God’s LOVE and compassion…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 3 September 2010 Proverbs 29:1‏

Proverbs 29:1     He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

Oh Friends, it’s Friday once again! Time to sing the TGIF Song: ‘Oh Lord, thanks for getting me through another week of work. It hasn’t been easy, but with your help, I made it through. Now, please help me to get sufficient fun, fellowship, rest and relaxation in these two short days off, so that I can be renewed and refreshed in soul, body and mind, to go back out and do it all over again next week, furthering your kingdom with each step I take. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.’ Oh my people, I hope we all sang along with great gusto, in an expectant, faith-filled frame of mind, because it’s only with the Lord’s help that we can successfully navigate five days of work, with only two days of rest in between. Now remember that we also have our part to play in the proceedings, so don’t just go all crazy, then mumble and complain that the Lord didn’t help, as so many of us are wont to do. In those cases though, it’s usually because we didn’t help ourselves sufficiently. We can’t expect God to do everything for us, that’s why He gave us freedom of choice and all the other things we so desperately desired. But unfortunately that can lead to two extremes; where we either sit and wait for Him to do everything, or we go out and try to do everything ourselves without asking for or seeking His input. Both extremes are fraught with dire risk my people. We need to find a happy balance between waiting on God to do His part, and then doing ours. Sadly though, some of us never learn that art of balance, and today we’ll continue talking about those of us who continually go out and do whatever we want with no input from God. That’s a foolish way to live, for as Cousin Sol so wisely stresses: ‘He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.’ And we all know that’s true, since we’ve all experienced it in one form or another. But why do we insist on being so stubborn and hardhearted eh, especially when we know the awful price we can pay for such behaviour? Who knows? I certainly don’t. It must be something in our sinful make up that causes such irrational behaviour. We saw that yesterday with God’s chosen people, the Israelites, who several times turned away from God and paid stiff prices. But yet they continued doing it. Oh Friends, we’ve also seen from the Exodus, where the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart against releasing His people, that disobedience to God doesn’t work. (Ex.4:21) Regardless of the punishment the Lord wreaked on Egypt, Pharaoh refused to let them go. Not until after about nine plagues, that of darkness, did Pharaoh eventually relent. ‘And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.’ (Ex.10:24) And even then, Pharaoh wanted them to leave their livestock behind, but Moses, with the Lord’s advice, outsmarted him and Israel left with all their possessions and much wealth from the Egyptians. My people, the Lord God Jehovah is the most powerful entity in the universe, and until we, His mortal creations fully understand and accept that, there’ll always be hell to pay. Look at the ungodly, dissolute manner in which we now live; quite a turn away from that of our parents and grandparents. Yes my brethren, in just two generations we’ve gone from a basically godly society to a depraved, ungodly one. The God of our fathers now plays a much smaller role than ever before in our family lives, our laws, our institutions, even our churches. Just look at all the negative stuff that’s befalling us: The richest nations are experiencing economic disaster and widespread poverty. The most medically and technologically advanced generation is being blighted by all kinds of illness and diseases. We’re even seeing the return of some that were eradicated long ago. Now look at all the natural disasters that are taking place simultaneously all over the world. I’m not saying that they are all God’s retribution, but Friends, we must be doing something wrong somewhere; including polluting the atmosphere, destroying the earth itself and living more for the rotting things of the world than for the eternal things of God. If we read Jeremiah Chap.5, we’ll surely believe He’s talking about our current society. There he refers to the perverseness (wrong directions, wickedness), the adultery, the impiety (ungodliness, lack of reverence) and the spiritual and civil corruption that was prevalent in the Jewish society of his time. Oh Friends, we’ve taken it almost to the nth degree, and if we allow our hardened, stubborn hearts to keep us going in that evil, unwise direction, one day we’ll eventually pay, and in a big way too, just like Israel and all the other ungodly societies. The Lord’s not going to put up with our deliberate ungodliness forever. That much is guaranteed. Therefore Friends, like the wise believers we are, and for our progeny’s sake, let’s learn from the mistakes of those who got too big for their breeches and forgot the Creator of the universe. Remember, rebellion and disobedience against the Lord, does not pay, and can eventually lead to oblivion. And we certainly don’t want that for our society, so let’s go out there and show the unbelievers the truth of God’s Word, and make them see sense, as the old people would say. Till tomorrow then, God willing, go in peace my brethren, and faithfully spread God’s Word, and His unconditional, everlasting LOVE! It’s the only way for our society to survive. Much LOVE!…a society’s continued prosperity…is directly proportionate…to it’s obedience to God…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 2 September 2010 Proverbs 29:1‏

Proverbs 29:1     He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

Oh you beautiful Friends in Jesus, we’ve been granted the awesome privilege of seeing another day, of experiencing God’s mercies, His LOVE, forgiveness and also His punishment. Yes my people, unfortunately, everyday we see, gives sin more opportunities to enter our lives, and if we’re not careful, to control it. But if we stick to the Father’s will, and allow His Spirit to guide us, we’ll be able to overcome whatever evil comes our way. However my Friends, not all of us know Jesus, or even if we do, adhere to His spiritual principles. That means, when Lucifer comes a calling, we’re very likely to let him enter our souls and lead us astray. But just remember people, at some stage we always pay for our wrongdoing, especially if we make it a habit. As our Bit says: ‘He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.’ And isn’t that the living truth mih bredden! The old people knew it when they warned: ‘If yuh doh hear, yuh going to feel.’ And many, no, all of us have experienced that negative feeling when we didn’t listen to our parents, teachers or the law. The sad part is that some of us were, and still are so hard headed and stubborn, we insisted on doing wrong again and again, despite the pain and humiliation the punishment inflicted on us caused.  Consequently, some of us ended up going down the wrong road; that broad, wide expanse of highway that the enemy so enthusiastically lures us on to. But then too, oftimes when we get on that road that looks so alluring and beautiful, we sadly discover that there are no exits, that it’s just a long, one way road, meaning we can’t turn back, and are forced to journey along it to wherever it leads, usually to destruction, and often death. Oh my people, it’s the same way our heavenly Father operates. Like any caring earthly parent, He walks and talks with us, and gives us all several chances to be obedient to His will. But if we insist on thumbing our noses at Him, and doing what we want to, as so many of us foolishly do, then there’ll come a time when He says, ‘Stop! Enough is enough!’ And without warning, our arrogant, rebellious nature will be severely punished. Said punishment might not even have an antidote to reverse it. So what happens then? Obviously crapaud smoke we pipe! Oh Friends, that’s not a very wise move for any of us to make. And we have so many good examples to learn from, especially the early Israelites. Even though time and time again, the Lord showed them mercy, kindness, forgiveness, LOVE and prosperity they did not deserve, look at how often they became disobedient, stubborn, moronic and rebelled against Him. And what made it worse is that they were His specially chosen people. We all know how it hurts when those close to us are disobedient and rebellious. And even though they paid dearly every time, yet they still did it. Ah Lord eh! As the Good Book says in 2 Chronicles, during Zedekiah’s reign over Judah, the Lord sent His messengers to warn them of their idolatrous, rebellious behaviour, because there was compassion in His heart for them. But what was their response? ‘But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.’ (2 Chr.36:16) Yes Friends, they abused and misused the Word and the messengers who brought it, till the Lord had no choice but to punish them severely by allowing the Babylonians to capture their land and take them captive to Babylon. The same sort of behaviour occurred when Hezekiah became king and called all the tribes to Jerusalem to keep the Passover. He solemnly warned them: ‘Now be ye not stiffnecked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you. For if you turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.’ (2 Chr.30:8-9) But Friends, you wouldn’t believe what happened. ‘So the posts (runners) passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.’ (2 Chr.30:10) Imagine that nuh! The Lord’s chosen people laughing, mocking and scorning His holy will! Even the possibility that it might help their brethren and children held captive by their enemies didn’t soften their ungodly hearts. Wow! And though many showed up to keep the Passover, enough stayed away that punishment still befell them. My Friends, please take some time to reflect on the state of our society, in light of what we’ve just read. Tomorrow, God willing, we’ll continue with this topic, since it’s rather important. Till then, please walk in peace and good fellowship with all. Much LOVE!…him that heath ears to hear…let him hear…or he’ll surely feel…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 1 September 2010 Jeremiah 3:23‏

Jeremiah 3:23     Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.

Oh Friends, can you believe it’s September 1st already? Wow! Where has August and the rest of the year gone to? The summer has passed and it seems as though I’ve done nothing. But then again, the summer might not be quite finished in my neck of the woods, because it’s going to be thirty something again today. And Friends, that’s Celsius, not Fahrenheit. (smile) Anyway, I turned the page of the Alzheimer’s Society calendar today, some of you might have it, and a most appropriate quote for the times jumped out at me. The Dalai Lama declares that: ‘Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.’ And believe me people, that’s the gospel truth! Happiness is something you’ve got to work diligently at, for at every turn in your life’s journey, there’s something or someone just out to make your life, difficult, miserable and unhappy. So it’s up to all of us to sow the individual seeds to our own happiness. We also need to remember, that no one else is responsible for our happiness, but us. Neither can anyone make us happy, or unhappy, unless we allow them to. That utopian state of happiness lies completely in our hands alone, since it’s an emotional state, and only we control our emotions. And that happiness theme certainly lines up nicely with our Bit, where Jeremiah declares: ‘Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains.’ Yes Friends, many of us look to the hills, mountains, other places and things for happiness and salvation, but the author of Psalm 121, when talking about God’s sustaining power, had the right idea. ‘I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills (mountains), from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.’ (Ps.121:1-2) So though we lift our eyes, heavenward, earthward, or wherever my people, it’s extremely important we know and remember that the Lord God Jehovah is the original source of all our help. None of His creations have the awesome power to help us like He does. As Bruh David confidently proclaims in Psalm 124: ‘Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.’ (Ps.124:8) Therefore we can say with full surety, like Jeremiah does in the second half of our Bit: ‘truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.’ And Friends, I’m going to stay in the Old Testament today, just to give us some insight into the fact that even before Jesus came, the ancients knew God, knew His omnipotence, and looked to Him for His saving grace and salvation. But just like us today, they didn’t necessarily abide by His will, to everybody’s disadvantage. But let’s look at some old time scripture that confidently proclaims that salvation is truly of the Most High God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Obviously Bruh David will be the first to step up to the podium, since he spoke of it so much. In Psalm 3; a prayer of confidence in God, he proudly proclaims: ‘Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.’ (Ps.3:8) Likewise, in Psalm 25; a prayer for guidance and protection, he humbly declares: ‘Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all day.’ (Ps.25:5) Meanwhile, in Psalm 51; a prayer for cleansing after his adulterous and murderous liaison with Bathsheba, he sincerely pleads: ‘Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free (generous) spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted to thee.’ (Ps.51:12-13) And finally in Psalm 62, where he boldly declares that God is his rock and salvation: ‘He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved (shaken). In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.’ (Ps.62:6-7) Oh my people, Bruh David was so sure of the salvation of the Lord God of his fathers that he vocalized it in several different situations, as we can see from the quotes above. However, since we don’t want to give the impression that he was the only one who trusted in the Lord’s salvation in ancient times, here are some other important testimonials to that fact. Right at the start of the Good Book, we have Jacob, on his deathbed, prophesying re his children’s future, and staunchly declaring: ‘I have waited for thy salvation O Lord.’ (Gen.49:18) And Moses, in his song to the Israelites, also confidently proclaims: ‘The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him a habitation (praise him); my father’s God, and I will exalt him.’ (Ex.15:2) And that wily prophet, Isaiah, not to be outdone, in his song of praise by the redeemed, strongly declares: ‘And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.’ (Is.25:9) And we’ll end with one more quote from Isaiah, when he talks about the Lord, the only redeemer. It’s short, sweet, to the point and true! ‘I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.’ (Is.43:11) And all God’s people joyously shouted: ‘Amen! Glory Hallelujah!’ Oh Friends, let’s remember that and purposely live our lives in accordance with it, just as those stalwart ancients, those men of great faith, did so long ago. It’s one of the wisest decisions we’ll ever make. So, till we meet again tomorrow, God willing, remember to LOVE your GOD, LIVE your FAITH, and SPREAD His WORD! Much LOVE!…the only one who can save us…is the one who created us…
