Psalm 5:3. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Oh Friends, oh Friends, the ole fella’s in Paradise; God’s Little Acre; Robinson Crusoe’s Isle; Sweet, Sweet Tobago! It was an arduous journey, but the rewards will certainly be worth it.
Having left Toronto about 10.30 p.m last night, we got into Piarco airport in Trinidad at 5 a.m, then had to wait until 9.30 to get a flight to Tobago. There was one around six, but I listened to the Duchess when she queried what we were going to do in Tobago at that early hour of the morning.
But even if it was just lounge around the airport, like we did at Piarco, it would have been more refreshing, with cleaner air and more beautiful surroundings, although the Northern Range of mountains overlooking Piarco, did look splendid as the sun rose upon them.
At one stage I was so tired that I simply lay across a few seats in the Tobago Departure Lounge, and just rested for a while, And surprisingly it refreshed me.
Then when we finally got to Tobago, we had to wait for them to pick us up and negotiate some prices, because according to Expedia, they had booked the rental and sent us all sorts of confirmation. However the rental company claimed they had no reservation.
But wonder of wonders… sorry, there should be no wonder there at all my brethren, since from the moment I got to the airport, right at the check in counter, all through the night and into the day, people were wonderful to me! That’s because the abundant grace and favour of our magnanimous God shone extremely bright on me. We even got a cheaper rate than what Expedia had quoted us.
The long and short of the story Friends, is that by the time we settled everything and got to what they are calling a bungalow, but is actually an upstairs two bedroom apartment, it was after one p.m. Then we had to go and get something to eat, and unfortunately when we checked out the Internet, there was no service. Steups!
Apparently this part of the compound, including the sales and rental office is having service problems. But the sales people have graciously made arrangements for me to go up to the Hotel Magdalena, a luxurious resort on the compound to use their Internet service.
So I’m scribbling something here on my balcony overlooking the golf course, with some lovely greenery growing almost to the height of the balcony, while the cool sea breeze washes over me, surrounded by four other white buildings of similar shape and size. I believe that right now only one other is occupied, so it’s peaceful and quiet; just what the doctor ordered.
Ah Friends, the trees are all dancing to the scintillating, invigorating beat of the wind. That feels beautiful, and and old fellow just pulled up in his golf cart on the course on the foreground.
Now don’t all get jealous, (smile) all you have to do is like Bruh David and I did; follow the awesome words of our Bit. ‘My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.’
Ah mih people, our God truly does answer prayer! And if you don’t believe me, believe Bruh David, because you know his amazing story. It wasn’t an easy life, and he made some serious mistakes for which he paid dearly, but nevertheless, the Lord looked after him, showering him with great rewards, because He deemed him faithful, a man after His own heart.
And He will do the same thing for us Friends, if we follow Bruh David’s example, as well as Jesus’, especially on that faithful and most memorable night in the Garden of Gethsemane before His crucifixion. That night my fellow believers, our Saviour’s heart was very heavy, and He went into the garden with His disciples to pray. He told most of them: ‘Sit ye here, while I shall pray.’ (Mark 14:32b).
Then He took Peter, James and John, His inner circle further on, ‘And he saith unto them. My soul is exceedingly sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. and he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.
And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me; nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. and he cometh and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? could thou not watch one hour? Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.’ (Mark 14:34-38)
Oh my brethren, I don’t know what to do to awaken the spirit of prayer in us nuh, to make us truly believe that prayer is the essence, the bedrock, the very foundation of our being. For without it, we would not be able to communicate with Almighty God, our Heavenly Father. Therefore we wouldn’t be able to enjoy His grace, mercy, favour, forgiveness, LOVE, salvation and eternal life.
Oh Friends, just listen to al those wonderful things He provides for us when we live in obedience to His holy will and reverence Him with true LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS!
And on that note I’ll close for today, so I can go up the street to the Magdalena and get the Bit on it’s way. Much Much LOVE my people, from my balcony on the little bungalow at Lowlands. (smile) God Bless!
…only a fool refuses to believe and accept…the wonderful blessings of God…on those who trust and adore Him…
