Today’s Scrip-Bit 13 July 2007 1 Corinthians 10:13

1 Corinthians 10: 13.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation, also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

So true! The Most High will NEVER put you in a situation where he has not provided the tools for you to expedite the matter at hand. We should always remember that. It is one of the building blocks of our faith. What a wonderful Being is he eh!  Even though he puts us through our paces, he never gives us more than we can bear, and always provides a way out. I say Amen to that people! So when we find ourselves in a sticky situation, remember he’s watching over us, and whatever it is will not break our back, it might bend it, but definitely not break it. And if we search diligently and faithfully, we’ll find the answer to our problems. Selah!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 12 July 2007 Isaiah 34:16

Isaiah 34: 16…

Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read……

The message has not changed from the days of Isaiah. Umpteen hundreds of years later, we still need to read the Good Book, and worse yet, be reminded to read it. That’s the only way we will know what He has to say. But so many people today claim that they are too busy to spend a few minutes perusing the Word. Yet they find hours on end to watch the nonsense on the tube, or do other unimportant stuff. But as soon as we find ourselves in a jam, we’re quick to turn to Him and cry, Oh Lord, help me! Then we wonder why He doesn’t answer us. If we don’t make time for Him, yuh think He’ll make time for us? It’s all a matter of priorities people. In this fast paced, global village of today, we have to set priorities and stick to them, and communicating with our Maker should be at the head of our list. Whatever religion or faith you believe in, it’s imperative that you spend time with the head of that body, otherwise your belief and faith is a waste of time. So let’s put the Most High at the top of our list and MAKE THE TIME TO COMMUNICATE WITH HIM. Amen.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 11 July 2007 Psalm 40: 1-4

Psalm 40: 1- 4.

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

What a wonderful testimony for The Most High! And I would like to add my two cents worth to David’s praise. Today was a good day, and I just feel to give thanks for that. When we have a bad day we are quick to criticize, but when we have a good one we just take it for granted and forget to say thanks. So I am saying it now…THANKS! giving a great big,THANK YOU! to the Most High for a wonderful day, both weather wise and personal. Let’s not forgive to give THANKS people. There’s a lot for us to be thankful for. LIFE & LOVE!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 10 July 2007 Song of Solomon 4: 9-11

Song of Solomon 4: 9-11.

Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.

How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!

Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb; honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

What beautiful poetry! Was Solomon something else or what! He certainly had a way with words. That’s the manner in which we should interact with our spouses. Not necessarily in such overboard terms, but certainly in a kind, respectful and loving manner. Men, please remember to whisper those sweet nothings. And women, please, please don’t only appreciate them in silence, but more importantly, show that appreciation in some tangible form, so that the other party can know that their actions and/or words are appreciated. It’s these little things that keep a relationship fresh and fun loving. I just could not resist those beautiful words of Solomon today, since I had not seen the wife of my youth for three, whole, long days. Wow! Much LOVE to all.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 9 July 2007 The Song of Solomon 1:6

The Song of Solomon  1: 6

Look not upon me because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me, they made me the keeper of their vineyards, but mine own vineyard have I not kept.

Surprise surprise! No, we are not dealing with the racial stuff, we are looking at the keeping of the vineyards. It happens to all of us at some time or other, we pay much more attention to other people’s affairs while leaving ours to suffer. It even happened to the supposed wisest man that ever lived. We’ve got to remember to look after ourselves too. We need to keep some sense of balance in our lives. It’s good to help others, but don’t go overboard, don’t forget your needs too, because in the long run, if you can’t help yourself, you won’t be able to help anybody else either. Peace with lots of LOVE!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 8 July 2007 Psalm 62: 7-8

Psalm 62: 7-8

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge is in God.

Trust Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah!

This is one of those Bits that just jumped out at me when I opened The Good Book today, so I knew immediately that it was His hand at work in the devious manner which he seems to favour. Anyway, I guess today he wants to reinforce that He is not only a refuge for us, but The One & Only HOPE we have. And rightfully so, for who else, as David said, can be our Salvation and Glory, the Rock of our Strength and our Safe and Secure Hiding Place? None but The Most High. Consequently, we can trust Him and take all our pain and troubles to him, for in times of need, he shall lovingly comfort and heal us. Selah!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 7 July 2007 Jeremiah 50: 31-32

Jeremiah 50: 31-32

Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord God of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

The old saying that pride goeth before a fall is certainly true. And in today’s Bit, God was admonishing and warning the proud Babylonians for treating his people, the Israelites, terribly. I don’t know if there’s anything The Most High dislikes more than Pride. Jeremiah says that ‘the most proud shall fall and stumble,’ but the most important part is that ‘none shall raise him up’  No one will help him. That’s sad, but it’s exactly what happens when we think too much of ourselves and put on a whole lot of airs and graces and act as though we’re better than everybody else. Then, when everything crash, we find ourselves bewailing our misfortune and blaming everybody and everything else but our prideful selves. Beware people, unholy, false Pride is rampant today, and there’s nothing the Lord loves more than humbling a proud sinner. Much LOVE!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 6 July 2007 John 6:63

John 6:63.

It is the spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.

Some people say that we are spiritual beings existing in a physical body, and not the other way around. However it is though, according to J.C. above, it’s the spirit that’s most important. The flesh is not worth much. And when the Holy Spirit resides within you, you experience life on a different, much higher plane. All the fleshly things of the world –  like the size of your house, the model car you drive, who’s in a bigger or more important job, who’s richer in monetary tems, etc. – all these things cease to be important. That still small voice guides you on the true path to life. You begin thinking more in terms of helping and giving…especially LOVE!

Today’s Scrip-Bit (2) 5 July 2007 What Our Daily Prayer Should Be.

Hi People, this is two for one day. Just read this prayer. And even though I’ve read it before, tonight it just touched me more and I thought I should share it with you. It’s a big Bit….but whoever said Bits were supposed to be small eh?  I’m sure you’ll understand after reading it Cher. LOVE!

THIS IS JUST BEAUTIFUL !
>Subject: What our daily prayer should be!
>Best Prayer I Have Heard In A Long Time…
>>
Heavenly Father, Help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children. >> Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can’t make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension
over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester. >> Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares. >>Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together. >>Heavenly Father , remind us each day that, of all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is LOVE!  It is not enough to share that LOVE with those we hold dear. >>Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and LOVE!

Working for God on earth doesn’t pay much……but His retirement plan is out of this world!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 5 July 2007 Psalm 42:11

Psalm 42: 11

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?  And why art thou disquieted within me?  Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Even when David was sad and miserable he encouraged himself in his God. It is, especially in those dark, sorrowful moments when we need some comfort and reassurance that we need to turn to God. Ask for his assistance, praise him and acknowledge his majesty over our lives. Much LOVE!
