Today’s Scrip-Bit 5 June 2007 John 13: 34-35

John 13: 34 – 35.

A new commandment I give to you; That you love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

It is such a simple philosophy…Love one another. Yet we screw it up all the time. J.C. did not want us to go around spouting scripture and such stuff all the time while treating one another like garbage. How much clearer could he be. He says I am Love, so if you live in love, then everybody will obviously know that you are one of my followers. But this love thing seems so hard for us to do. While the hate and animosity part comes so easily. Just look at the world today. There’s more ill will than anything else out there. Don’t worry if I come on strong about this because it’s one of my pet peeves. I find it so much easier to live decently with people than the other way around. Perhaps my mind is just too small to comprehend it, but I’m glad if that’s the case, because I can’t stand all the nonsense, the senseless death and destruction that’s prevalent today. Help me here people. Let’s try and live in love! It’s so much easier and much more stimulating to the soul. LOVE PEOPLE…LOVE!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 4 June 2007 Isaiah 25: 1 & 4

Isaiah 25: 1 & 4.

O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

Now isn’t that a most excellent God?  A trustworthy, father figure to whom we can turn to and rely on when times get rough. He’ll always be there for us; in good times as well as bad. So talk to him; praise him; tell him your problems, and he’ll guide you to safe shores. Love!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 3 June 2007 Psalm 34: 17-20

Psalm 34: 17-20.

The righteous cry and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saved such as be of a contrite spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth his bones: not one of them is broken.

And all God’s people said, “WOW!” What an awesome, all powerful, forgiving, heart-healing God we believe in. Whatever the problem might be, if we turn to him sincerely, he will protect us with not even a bone being broken. He takes care of all our needs. There is none other like him. Again, I’ve got to say WOW! Trust him and walk in his ways people. He is the greatest! The one and only Superstar! Okay, so I got a little carried away today. But that’s a part of the whole thing. If you don’t get carried away sometimes, then whatever you’re doing or saying isn’t really powerful or moving you. So till next time, much Love and plenty Faith!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 1 June 2007 2 Timothy 4: 17-18

Greetings & Salutations!

I was not going to send any bit’s today since I’d just sent a whole lot of other Godly stuff, but the Good Lord looked at me with a thoughtful frown, shook his head and quietly asked, "So it’s okay to send a lot of dirty jokes and other nonsense, but if it has anything to do with me, then you can only send a couple?"  We all know the answer to that…NO! So here goes!

2 Timothy 4: 17-18.

Notwithstanding, the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me, the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen!

If we put our trust in the Lord, we will be able to say exactly what Paul wrote to Timothy.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 31 May 2007 Nahum 1: 3 & 7

Nahum 1: 3 & 7.

The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power…

The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Wow! What an awesome God! Who in their right mind would not want to trust him? Come on people, let’s all trust him and work together for his glory!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 30 May 2007 Proverbs 5: 18-19

Proverbs 5:18-19
Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

I had to chuckle when I first read these verses. I like the way he puts it. In any case, one can’t argue with Solomon, he should know better than most; what with all his dalliance. But sadly, these days we change wives so often, that not too many are the ones of our youth. However, I believe the same sentiments apply to any wife we have. So men, please LOVE them!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 29 May 2007 Ecclesiastes 3: 11-13

Ecclesiastes 3: 11-13.

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice and do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

We can’t fathom God’s grand design, but we know that he made us to sing his praises, live good and be happy, working diligently and enjoying the fruits of our labour…in moderation though (smile) Happy working and enjoying.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 28 May 2007 Nehemiah 4: 14 & 20

Nehemiah 4: 14 & 20

…Be not afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible; and fight for your brethren; your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses:

…Our God shall fight for us.

That is the God awesome truth! If we keep our lives centred on him and show some spunk during the rough times, he will use his powerful arm on our behalf. Keep fighting the good fight of faith. Much Love.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 27 May 2007 James 3:16, Proverbs 17:1, 10:12

Three in one day

James 3: 16.

For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Proverbs 17: 1.

Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.

Proverbs 10: 12.

Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

Oh people! The world is so full of hatred and strife today that I don’t know what’s going to become of it if we don’t cut back on the petty jealousies and dislikes that’s causing most of it. Isn’t it strange though, that all the religions preach peace and love but it’s these same religions that are fomenting a lot of the discord. Please, oh please, for our children and grandchildren’s sake, let’s seriously start practicing peace and love… starting in our homes, where a lot of the strife is centred. More time!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 26 May 2007 Psalm 34: 8-10

Okay, Okay! So I missed a day. Forgive me. I know how you all get up early and excited every morning to read the wonderful words of your day’s Scrip-Bit.(Smile) I wish! That’s what you call dealing in dreams, hope and faith! So it seems that I’m following my teaching. Anyway, today’s wonderful words come from:

Psalm 34: 8-10.

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

David lived it. And though he had many problems, many worse than any we face, he saw them through with God’s help. So can we. Just trust him and be blessed. Love!
