Today’s Scrip-Bit 20 May 2007 Hebrews 11: 6

Hebrews 11: 6.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

It’s all about belief; strong, heartfelt belief, and with that comes the patience to work and wait for him to do whatever needs to be done, in his good time.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 19 May 2007 Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is the next step up from Hope. First we dream and hope, then through that strong sense of inner belief, Faith, we patiently work towards whatever it is we’re hoping and dreaming about. Even when things are not going right we’ve got to have faith; that fortitude to keep on keeping on. It’s the only way we’ll make it through this crazy world. So hang in there. As the song on the radio is saying, “the best is yet to come." Believe it!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 18 May 2007 Romans 8: 24-25

Romans 8: 24-25.

For we are saved by hope; but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Hope is the most important aspect of our lives; that is why we get up everyday and go through the same dull, boring routines, hoping that today will be better than yesterday, and tomorrow better than today.Hope is what our dreams are made up of. Without hope there would be no dreams. Like the old cliché says, ‘whilst there’s life there’s hope!’ And isn’t that the God awesome truth! Peace…Love…and much Hope!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 17 May 2007 Job 5:17-18, Proverbs 3:11-12

Job 5: 17-18

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth, therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty. For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; he woundeth and his hands make whole.

Proverbs 3: 11-12.

My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, neither be weary of his correction. For whom the Lord loveth, he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Today is two for one day! I just could not resist putting these two bits together. If both Job and Solomon could say it, it has to be true. I believe J.C said sometime that if we could honour our earthly fathers who at times treat us badly, so much more should we honour our Heavenly Father who only has our best interest at heart. Don’t feel too bad when he corrects us. It’s usually for our good. Love.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 16 May 2007 No Scripture Reading

No Scripture Reading.

Well Hello there Friends & Neighbours! Sorry that there was no bit of scripture yesterday…I’m sure some of you were glad. But we’re back today. Actually, what I’m sending today is not from the Good Book, but it’s something I’m sure J.C would agree with and say if he was here in the flesh. It’s from a book of Daily Meditations titled ‘One More Day’ and when I read it yesterday The Spirit moved me to make it a Scrip-Bit. So here it is.

A true friend is the most precious of all possessions and the one we take the least thought about acquiring. – La Rouchefouecauld.

My Friendships are invaluable. I will let my friends know how much I cherish them. – Anon.

I cherish all of you. Please forward this to all your other online friends to let them know that you cherish them. That way we will have a great, big bowl of cherishing. What could be better eh! Peace, with lots of Love!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 14 May 2007 Proverbs 31: 10-12

Proverbs 31: 10-12.

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Belated Mother’s Day Greetings to all you wonderful Mother’s out there! And you men who have women like the above, mothers, wives, girlfriends, etc. etc; please honour and treasure them for they are rare, few and far between.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 13 May 2007 Isaiah 41: 29-31

Isaiah 41: 29-31

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might, he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run; and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.

This bit of scripture is so well known that it’s become like a scriptural cliché. But how many of us really practice it? What with the way our current society is completely taken up with speed and everything now for now; the quicker the better! But that’s not what it says in the Good Book. So let’s start waiting on him, so that we may be really strengthened. It’s not always easy, but it’s usually better for us in the long run.

End of Sermon!

Today’s Scrip-bit 12 May 2007 Nehemiah 1:11

Nehemiah 1:11

O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cup bearer

Today’s Scrip-Bit 11 May 2007 Micah 7: 7-8

Micah 7: 7-8

Therefore will I look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

The enemy shall not prevail if we keep looking towards God.
