Today’s Scrip-Bit 9 May 2007 Psalm 59: 16-17

Psalm 59: 16-17

But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

If he is all of that to us, then we should sing his praises.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 8 May 2007 Ephesians 4: 23-27

Ephesians 4: 23-27.

And be ye renewed in the spirit of your mind. And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Wherefore putting away lying; speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Be ye angry; and sin not: Let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Neither give place to the devil.

What more is there to say eh?

Today’s Scrip-Bit 7 May 2007 Isaiah 2: 11-12

Isaiah 2: 11-12

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon everyone that is proud and lofty, and upon everyone that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low.

Take heed people! Our society today resembles Isaiah’s of yesteryear very much. False pride is running rampant, and at some stage, like the foundationless Stock Market we admire so much, there must be a correction. Whatever goes up, without just cause, must come tumbling down!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 6 May 2007 Jeremiah 17: 9-10

Jeremiah 17: 9-10

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it.

I the Lord search the heart…

Think I sent this already, but in any case it’s still true and something we should always keep in mind

Today’s Scrip-Bit 5 May 2007 Matthew 22: 37-40

Matthew 22: 37-40.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Go thy way with blessings and follow them.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 4 May 2007 Mark 11:24-26

Mark 11: 24-26

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that you receive them and ye shall have them.

And when ye stand praying; forgive, if ye have ought against any, that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive you your trespasses.

Makes sense, doesn’t it.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 3 May 2007 2 Chronicles 29:30

2 Chronicles 29:30

Moreover, Hezekiah the King and the Princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the Lord with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

We should all try and do likewise.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 2 May 2007 Psalm 55: 16-17

 Psalm 55: 16-17.

As for me, I will call upon God: and the Lord shall save me.

Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud; and he shall my voice.

 For sure.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 1 May 2007 Psalm 37: 23-24

 Psalm 37: 23-24.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delighteth in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

Let’s all try to be numbered amongst the goodly.

Today’s Scrip-Bit 29 April 2007 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

 2 Corinthians 4: 8-9.
 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed: we are perplexed, but not in despair;
Persecuted but not forsaken; cast down but not destroyed.

That’s for certain sure! Why should we be, when we have the Most High on our side, or rather always at our side?
