Today’s Scrip-Bit 25 January 2018 Revelation 21:4.

Revelation 21:4.   And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Greetings friends, from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! He wants us to know that this Thursday morning we are only one day away from our weekend break, and that we have done a good job so far this week, we’ve been ploughing straight furrows, so we should not give up or lose hope, because He is right there alongside us, every moment of the day, and with His help, we will certainly succeed.

So just hang in there, keep on fighting the good fight, and all will be well! What a reassuring message my people! And Jesus is nothing, if not a ‘reassurer.’ And His promises are ever-faithful and true. So please keep on believing.

And I have an interesting thought to share from one Erwin Raphael McManus, author, futurist, designer, filmmaker and Pastor of a Los Angeles church called Mosaic. He apparently says in his book, ‘The Last Arrow,’ that ‘The pain of life is the obstacle to our future. Do not let fear and pain limit your freedom to your future.’

What wise and truthful words my brethren! In this fallen and sinful world of ours, it is fear and pain that take a dire toll on our freedom to enjoy this earthly life. If we didn’t have fear or pain, we’d be home free. (smile) But we know that that situation will only be rectified after the Second Coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, when Almighty God births the new heaven and earth. What a joyful day that will be my people!

And we have that on good info from John the Revelator, who writes, after seeing a vision: ‘And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.’ (Rev.21:1-5)

Wow mih breddren, what an awesome promise and time we have to look forward to; living in the New Jerusalem where there will be no night or day, no pain, sorrow, or death and Jesus and the Father and the Holy Spirit will dwell amongst us in living colour! Mama Mia! I can’t wait for that day when there will be no more pain! (smile)

Now let’s check out some explanations from the scholars’. ’21:1-2. Chapters 21 and 22 are a description of the eternal state (following the Millennium and the final judgement), centering in the new Jerusalem as the eternal habitation of the saved (cf. Heb.11:10; 12:22-24).

The first heaven and the first earth are replaced by a new heaven and a new earth, predicted by Isaiah (cf. Is.65:17; 66:22). The present universe will thus be cleansed from all the effects of sin (cf. 2 Pet. 3:7, 10-13). Since there will be no more sea, the increased land space will be fully capable of handling large numbers of redeemed people from all ages.

The New Jerusalem is fully described in 21:10-22:5. It is a holy city, totally separate from sin (cf. vs, 8, 27; 22:15). It is being prepared (cf. John 14:3) as the habitation of the bride of Christ (cf. v.9). From God shows its divine purpose, and out of heaven its divine origin.’

Yeh mih people, a new day is coming, we know not when, that means we have to be prepared and constantly on the lookout for it. As Peter warns: ‘But the day of the Lord will come as a thief (robber) in the night…Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.’ (2 Pet. 3:10a, 13-14)

Yeh friends, we have that awesome promise of Jesus that after He’s wrapped up, destroyed all the sin and evil in the world, He will bring us to a place of everlasting peace and joy to dwell with Him forever. But it’s imperative that we make the necessary preparations RIGHT NOW, because Jesus can come back at ANY time. Oh, and please read the references in the scholars’ explanations, for they are a treasure trove of scripture. (smile)

And having read and digested all of that, let’s go home loudly and sincerely declaring our Thursday Blessings. As one now: ‘I declare that I am blessed with God’s supernatural wisdom and receive clear direction for my life! I declare today that I am blessed with creativity, courage, talent and abundance!

I am blessed with a strong will, self-control and self-discipline! I am blessed with a great family, good friends, good health, faith, favour and fulfillment! I am blessed with success, supernatural strength, promotion and divine protection! I am blessed with a compassionate heart and a positive outlook on life!

I declare that any curse or negative word that’s ever been spoken over me is broken right now in the name of Jesus! I declare that everything I put my hands to will prosper and succeed! I declare it today and everyday! Amen!’

And please remember that those blessings were granted to us not to keep and hoard for ourselves, but to share with others, so let’s go out and share them now nuh. Much LOVE!

…there is awesome power in the word of Jesus…because that’s what created the universe and all therein…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 3 March 2016 Psalm 77:13‏‏‏

Psalm 77:13.    Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary (holiness): who is so great a God as our God?

And the adventure continues…

Yes friends, this holiday is turning into something of a nomadic adventure. Listen up. To start with, the villa we had contracted for was not available for the first week, so we stayed at a different one. And if you remember for that week we had no t.v. because the cable wasn’t working.

Then after the first week, we moved to the correct one, where we had no t.v for the first couple of days, because the bill had not been paid.  That was eventually rectified and it’s been going fairly smoothly since then.

Now yesterday afternoon the power went off, but we felt it was just a transient thing. My brother and his wife came to visit during the early afternoon, and then the ladies went out to do whatever ladies do when they go out, (smile) while my brother and I remained chatting on the patio.

Every so often we would open the front door to see if power had returned, and every time the answer was negative. But through all of that I could swear that I heard a generator running close by, though I never paid much attention to it.

Finally, around four o’clock, we had some contact with the ladies and the duchess asked if I had contacted the lady at the rental agency. I said no, but would soon do so.

Wonder of wonders, when I did contact her, she checked and informed me that the power company had disconnected my power because the bill had not been paid.

Ah Lord eh! That thought had never occurred to me, otherwise I could have called her much earlier and possibly had it restored yesterday.

She claimed that they had paid several electricity bills earlier in the week, but apparently mine was not amongst them. And when we came outside and checked the board with the meters, all the others had a yellow tag, except mine, which had a red one denoting disconnection.

The long and short of the story is that they put us up overnight at another villa on the property, from which I’m now writing this Bit. That makes three places I’ve now stayed at on the grounds in the few weeks that I’ve been here.

Anyway, hopefully the bill will be paid this morning and sometime later today I can move back to my correct place of abode.  As I keep saying friends, when you work with and for Jesus, life is always interesting.

And why is that? Simply because He desires His people to live prosperous and interesting lives. If we didn’t do that, why would the heathen and the unbeliever want to come to Him eh?

And I just finished having an interesting breakfast too; bake and smoke herring that my brother had brought for me yesterday. The smoke herring was something I haven’t had for some time. And did it ever go down well! All praise and thanks be to our great God!

That brings us to our wonderful Bit. ‘Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary (holiness): who is so great a God as our God?’

Now we’ll continue dealing with second half of that statement: ‘who is so great a God as our God?’ And let me reiterate for the doubtful, the unbelievers and the don’t care: there is ABSOLUTELY NO ONE OR NOTHING THAT’S GREATER THAN OUR GOD JEHOVAH! And the sooner people realize that, the better off they will be.

As I believe I asked yesterday; how can anybody be greater than the ONE who created the universe and all therein eh? It’s impossible!

And we showed some of His greatness by how He spoke the world into existence, played mind games with Pharaoh, led His chosen people Israel out of bondage, by parting the Red Sea for them to walk across on dry land, then closing it back up to engulf the chasing Egyptian army.

Today we’ll look at some more of the great stuff He did as He led the Israelites through the wilderness. And the first thing we’ve got to realize is that the Lord did not lead them the easier and nearer way, through the land of the Philistines’ ‘for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent (change their minds) when they see war, and they return to Egypt.’ (Ex.13:17)

The Lord obviously knew the fickle and faithless kind of people He was dealing with. Nonetheless, the Good Book says in His mercy and LOVING-kindness, ‘the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light; to go by day and night.’ (Ex.13:21)

Now tell me which other supposed God can do that eh? NONE!

And then, three days into their journey through the wilderness they found no water until they came to a place called Marah, but the water was bitter, hence the name.

‘And the people murmured against Moses, saying, what shall we drink? And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord showed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet:’ (Ex.15:24-25)

Now who else but our omnipotent Deity can cast a tree into bitter water and make it sweet eh? ABSOLUTELY NO ONE!

Further on into the wilderness of Sin; a somewhat appropriate name (smile), the children of Israel began to murmur against Moses, this time for food, remembering the plentiful food they had back in Egypt. And Moses took his problem to the Lord, as we all should do, and the Lord promised to rain down bread and flesh on the Israelites, and so He did.

In the evening quail rained down upon the camp, and in the morning they had fresh bread, manna to eat. Now none of them had ever seen or heard of the manna, and at first didn’t like it, but when you don’t have, you’ll eat almost anything.

And we’re talking about between one and two million people here, so you can imagine the great amount of quail and manna it took to feed them every day. Who else could do that eh, except our mighty and ever-generous and ever-LOVING God eh? NOBODY!

So we’ll leave off there for today, so that we can sit and consider and ponder the true greatness of our God, which we don’t do often enough, otherwise we wouldn’t have as many doubts and fears.

Tomorrow, God in favour, we’ll continue to look at some of His great and mighty works. Till then, please walk wisely and safely under His marvellous umbrella of safe and secure protection. Much LOVE!

…there is only one Power…and one Presence here…God the Good…Omnipotent…
