Today’s Scrip-Bit 3 July 2026 Acts 9:6a.
Acts 9:6a. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?
And finally, our long awaited day of Friday. Obviously the shouts of our Friday Mantra rise to the sky. ‘TGIF! Thank God it’s Friday and the weekend is here at last!’ And many of us are just dying to get it over with so we can rest up after the Canada Day celebrations earlier on in the week. But please be careful, because it’s going to be another hot, sweltering day, with the heat warning still in effect. So stay inside, or make sure you’re well protected if you’re outside.
And today the Lord caused the Bible to open to the beginning of the Book of Jeremiah. Why? Because He wanted to point out an example to many of us who make excuses to do His bidding, like Jeremiah did. Jeremiah relates it thus: ‘Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, ‘Before I formed thee in the belly (womb) I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee (set thee apart), and ordained (appointed) thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child (youth).
But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations, and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull (tear) down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build and to plant.’ (Jer. 1:5-10)
Yes friends, many of us make excuses when the Lord calls us to do something for Him, claiming we’re not capable for whatever reason. Jeremiah claimed that he was young and thus inexperienced. When He approached me to write the Bit, I laughed, because it did seem like a joke, and claimed that I did not have enough religious knowledge, which at the time was perfectly true. But the Creator of the universe and all therein knows what He’s doing and does not call us by chance, but rather by choice. Yuh see how He told Jeremiah that He knew him and set him apart as a prophet from before his birth, then touched his mouth and made him understand.
Unfortunately, with me, He did not touch my mouth and make we wise, No. After making life difficult for me until I accepted His call, I had to go through the long process of reading and studying His Word and trying to understand what He was saying to me through the Holy Spirit. And even after nineteen long years of writing the Bit, I’m still far from perfect. But I have improved from first writing only a few lines to now writing too much. (smile) And don’t think we’re alone in refusing God’s call because we feel unworthy, for many great men of God at first refused for just that reason.
Here are some examples that the scholars give. ‘Moses (Ex. 3:4), Barak (Judg. 4:8), Gideon (Judg. 6:15), Saul (1 Sam. 10:22), Bruh David (2 Sam. 7:19), and Cousin Sol (1 Kin. 3:7), and many others who understood clearly that sufficiency for God’s service comes only from God Himself.’ And that’s a glorious truth my people, for God does not call you to do something and leave you in the lurch. No! He takes time and teaches you what He expects from you, gives you all the tools you need to do His work efficiently and peacefully.
And my best advice is if and when the Lord calls you to do something, make a true excuse, if there’s one, but if He persists, then right away say, ‘Yes Lord, how high do you want me to jump?’ (smile) That’s because He will make your life miserable in so many different ways until He finally breaks you down and you agree to His offer. And I’m speaking there from personal experience. Please understand, that if the Lord truly wants you, He will get you.
And there’s a fine example in Bruh Paul. He was out there harassing the church. The Bible says: ‘As for Saul (Paul), he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling (dragging off) men and women committed them to prison.’ (Acts 8:3) And he was present when they killed Stephen. Then, one day while on his way to Damascus to do more harassing of the church, this bright light suddenly shined down from heaven blinded him and knocked him off his horse.
And he heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou Lord? and the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks (goads, sharpened sticks used to prod animals). And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what to do.’ (Acts 9:4-6) And Saul got up from the ground blind, and they led him to Damascus, where he stayed blind and didn’t eat nor drink for three days.
Oh friends, yuh see how easily the great persecutor of the church became it’s greatest zealot. Yes, because the Lord desired it. He had planned it that way from long before. And what amazes me is how Bruh Paul gave in so easily, with no fight or bluster at all. It just goes to show that when the Lord wants your services, He will get them one way or another. So when next He comes a calling, just agree from the very beginning, and save yourself some trouble. Now let’s go to the throne of grace, through our Friday Chant, seeking divine aid in these troubled times.
Altogether: ‘Oh Lord, thanks for getting me safely through another week of work. It hasn’t been easy, but with your generous help, I made it through. You know our many serious problems are escalating instead of improving, and we desperately need your help to fix them. Heavenly Father, with your omnipotent help, and our trusting faith, we know that we can stand strong and steadfast and defeat the simmering unrest in our land. So please give our leaders the wise guidance to handle these unexpected storms properly.
And despite the anxiety and confusion of these ungodly times, help us to be responsible, and get sufficient fun, fellowship, rest and relaxation in these two short days off, so that we can be renewed and refreshed in soul, body and mind, to go back out next week and further your glorious kingdom by the good example we, your faithful believers set. So that our sinful world can wake up and smell the coffee, wake up and smell it sweet and strong! We pray this in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Amen!’
And unfortunately, it’s not the unbelievers alone who need to wake up and smell the coffee, but also believers, for our Christian witness for Christ is certainly not good enough! Much LOVE!
…don’t try to kick against the pricks (goads)…for the Lord ALWAYS gets His man…or woman…eventually…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 2 July 2026 Psalm 38:8a.
Psalm 38:8a. ‘The Lord will perfect (complete) that which concerneth me.
And then it was Thursday; the Canada Day celebrations are over, and the work scene begins again. And yes, it’s sometimes hard to celebrate one day, then go to work the next. But I’m sure the smart ones have found a way to get these last two work days off, so they can have a long weekend. Now it’s going to be another blistering day, with another heat warning in effect. Like we’re finally getting what Europe’s been undergoing for a couple of weeks now, with so many places over there never ever experiencing such heat waves, and numerous people dying because of it.
So please, let’s stay inside as much as possible, hopefully in air conditioned comfort, or if you have to go out, make sure you put on your sun screen and a hat or something to protect you from those challenging rays of the sun. And talking about air conditioned comfort, it’s nice to note that the Duchess and I have not come to loggerheads over the AC just yet, (smile) for even she who likes the heat, is wary about going out in it. Thank the Lord!
And today I want to share one of the many encouraging things I have posted all around my office, which I never seem to notice, although I’m in here every day. And I only noticed this article last night possibly because I got a nudge from the Lord when I changed the wall calendar from June to July. For although the prominent article in big print, is pinned to the wall right next to the calendar, and I change the calendar every month, I don’t ever seem to notice it. So it must be the Lord’s doing. Now, don’t ask where I got it from, or when, and it must be fairly old because the paper has begun to yellow, as old paper usually does.
Anyway it’s titled: ‘Prayer For Success In All My Undertakings.’ And it begins with this verse; ‘The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me.’ (Ps. 138:8) Now please pray with me: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, Thou seest all and knowest all and plannest all. Thou hast put me here on earth for the wonderful purpose known only to Thee. And Thou hast given me my life that I might make this a better and happier world for all Thy children.
O Father, Thou knowest how hard I try to do Thy will. And sometimes I do wish I could be able to see into the future and find out whether I will ever have success and good fortune in my undertakings. But then I know it is enough that Thou guidest me only one step at a time. Help me, dear Father, help me to make a wonderful success of my life. Put my feet on the path once more to health and happiness and success in what I undertake.
Guide my steps every day, dear Father; to the work Thou wantest me to do. Be with me and I promise to do my best, Father. Make me listen to what Thou tellest me and help me to be good and honest and pure in heart. Help me to work hard that I may overcome all obstacles. For I shall not grow tired, dear Father, if I know Thou art leading me on to success. Blessed be Thy name, dear Father; for I know Thou wilt never fail me! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.’
Oh friends, isn’t that a beautiful and most interesting, as well as an appropriate prayer for these troubled and uncertain times, where many of us don’t know whether we’re coming or going! I suspect that it must have been written long ago because of the ‘Thys, Thous and Thees,’ but nonetheless it contains stuff that many of us pray every day. We know that God has placed us down here to improve life, and we all desire to know His will for our lives. And we all wish we could see into the future and check out if our lives are successful, but we need to have faith and patience and know that God is guiding us but only one step at a time.
One overview tells us, ‘God usually shows us the way a little bit at a time. He does not give us the whole map all at once. This builds our faith and helps us learn to trust Him every day. Think of walking in the dark with a flashlight. The light does not show the end of the road. It only shows the steps right in front of your feet. God’s guidance works in the same way.’
It’s like the literal translation of Prov. 4:12 says: ‘As you go, step by step I will open up the way before you.’ The pillar of cloud led the Israelites day by day. And the Holy Spirit lead us today, for the guidance we’re seeking from God, comes through the Holy Spirit. We need to listen to Him very closely every day for God’s guidance. And when we place our sincere faith and trust in Almighty God, then we’re assured that God will never fail us because that’s His promise, which you can find throughout the Bible.
Moses said it thus to the Israelites before they went into the Promised Land: ‘Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go before thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.’ (Deut. 31:6) And it’s what we also need to believe in these chaotic times if we expect to do God’s work successfully. That’s exactly why Bruh David could write in Psalm 38: ‘The Lord will perfect (complete) that which concerneth me.’ (Ps. 38:8) We must not doubt that the Lord will ensure His purpose for our lives will be accomplished in His good time.
And to help us do His earthly work. He so generously bestowed on us these undeserved Thursday Blessings. So let’s declare and activate them right now nuh. As one strong and sincere voice: ‘I declare that I am blessed with God’s supernatural wisdom and receive clear direction for my life! I declare today that I am blessed with creativity, courage, talent and abundance! I am blessed with a strong will, self-control and self-discipline! I am blessed with a great family, good friends, good health, faith, favour and fulfillment!
I am blessed with success, supernatural strength, promotion and divine protection! I am blessed with a compassionate heart and a positive outlook on life! I declare that any curse or negative word that’s ever been spoken over me is broken right now in the name of Jesus! I declare that everything I put my hands to, will prosper and succeed! I declare it today and every day! Amen!’
And having made that declaration, we’re now obliged to go out and share those undeserved blessings with others, just as generously as the Lord shared them with us, so that they too can come to know and LOVE Him like we do! Much LOVE!
…God’s plans for our lives will all come true…if we follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 28 June 2026 Matthew 10:31.
Matthew 10:31. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
And the weekly cycle has come around again; it’s Sunday, another beautiful summer’s day. But would you believe it’s already the last Sunday in June? Another two days and June is done! And if I didn’t know better, I’d swear that time has sped up, so that the days and months seem to be moving at breakneck speed. But whether time is moving more quickly or not, the fact that today is Sunday means we need to visit the Lord’s sanctuary to fellowship with other believers, giving thanks and praise and receiving a renewed and refreshed Spirit in return.
And our song of worship for today is a beautiful, relatively recent and very interesting Christian song written in 1905 by Civilla D. Martin and Charles H. Gabriel, titled ‘His Eye is on the Sparrow.’ The song is so popular that’ it’s been recorded by numerous artists from several different genres, but many of us might only know it as the powerful, climactic bridge in Kirk Franklin’s gospel song, ‘Why We Sing.’ However, today, we’re going to do the real song in a slower more soulful, heartfelt version like it was originally written.
So, let’s offer up our sweet sacrifices of praise, letting them ring ever so true, that there’s no doubt about sincerity. Singing: ‘Why should I feel discouraged, Why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, And long for heav’n and home; When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is he; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know he watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know he watches me. (Refrain: I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free; For his eye is on the sparrow, And I know he watches me.)
“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear, And resting on his goodness, I lose my doubts and fears; Though by the path he leadeth, But one step I may see; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know he watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know he watches me. [Refrain] Whenever I am tempted, Whenever clouds arise; When songs give place to sighing, When hope within me dies, I draw the closer to him, From care he sets me free; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know he watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know he watches me. [Refrain: I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free; For his eye is on the sparrow, And I know he watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free; For his eye is on the sparrow, And I know he watches me.’
And that’s the everlasting truth, my people! The song is a powerful reminder of our wonderful God’s faithful protection! And this commentary cements it: ‘Throughout life, we may feel discouraged and down. But always remember that He is by our side and watches over us through it all. Just like the lyrics of ‘His Eye Is On The Sparrow’ remember that He is with us in all that we do. And when you hear how this popular hymn came to be written, your heart will be touched. Do not be troubled because we have the King of kings on our side!’
More glorious truth my fellow believers! And the story behind the song’s creation is truly touching and most encouraging. The lyricist, Civilla Martin, explained that her inspiration for the song came from a friendship they made with another couple, Mr. And Mrs. Doolittle, while living in Elmira, New York. She called them ‘true saints of God.’ And here’s why. Apparently Mrs. Doolittle had been bedridden for almost twenty years. On the other hand, her husband was an incurable cripple who propelled himself to and from his business in a wheelchair. But despite their afflictions, they lived happy, Chrisitan lives, bringing inspiration and comfort to all who knew them.
One day, while visiting the Doolittles, her husband commented on their bright hopefulness and asked them the secret of it. Mrs. Doolittle’s reply was simple: ‘His eye is on the Sparrow, and I know He watches over me.’ What astonishing faith! Many of us who have all our faculties intact don’t have half as much faith. But I believe that it’s in our afflictions that our faith shows up the most. And according to Mrs. Martin, the beauty of that simple expression of boundless faith gripped the hearts and fired the imagination of she and her husband, and the hymn, ‘His Eye is on the Sparrow’ was the outcome of that most moving experience.
And what else can one expect when you come upon such true and beautiful faith. It makes you also want to make a difference of some magnitude. And Mrs. Martin certainly did with that song. But what of the scripture references eh? They seem to echo words from Bruh David in Psalm 32: ‘I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way in which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.’ (Ps. 32:8) That’s to do with being led by God when we put our trust and faith in Him. It’s as Cousin Sol also wisely advises in Proverbs: ‘Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct (make smooth or straight) thy paths.’ (Prov. 3:5-6)
Then, as per the connection to the sparrow, they come from the words of Jesus, trying to make us understand how very much the Father cares for us. In the Sermon on the Mount, during His teaching on worry, He points out: ‘Behold the fowls of the air (birds): for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better (more valuable) than they?’ (Matt. 6:26) That seems rather obvious, although we don’t seem to accept it.
Then, later on, when talking on fear, Jesus says: ‘And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.’ (Matt. 10:28-31) More everlasting truth my fellow believers! And let’s hope that we were able to renew and also improve our sense of worth and thus see ourselves as our heavenly Father sees us. Much LOVE!
…to be God’s most valuable creation…means that we’re worth a lot to Him…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 27 June 2026 1 John 5:14.
1 John 5:14. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
Oh friends, what a beautiful sunshiny summer’s day this lazy-day Saturday is turning out to be! And although the ole fella did laze around some in the bed earlier on, he’s still up relatively early, and is catching a much earlier bus than usual. (smile) So before we enshrine the laziness in the day, let’s offer up our Lazy-Day Saturday Prayer with all sincerity and truth!
As one strong voice: ‘Lord, I want to be with You now. Please slow my thoughts and quiet my soul. Let my muscles relax, my breath deepen. You are here with me – Your peace and LOVE are present. I marvel to think You can’t be contained, that Your LOVE both surrounds and fills me. Thank You for this tenderness, Lord. I praise You for Your unceasing nearness. Increase my awareness of You today, that I may know You all the more. Amen!’
And I can’t help reiterating that if our prayer was sincere and heartfelt, that soon, we’d be experiencing a level of peace and calm that we did not previously have, because our wonderful God just LOVES to answers our prayers that deal with intimacy towards Him. For as John so wisely says in his first epistle:
‘These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired (asked) of him.’ (1 John 5:13-15)
Yes mih people, we have so much confidence in the promises of our God, that if we ask anything that’s in His will, then we know that He hears our plea and grants our petition, because that’s His promise. As the scholars add: ‘Assurance of salvation (vs. 13) leads to confidence in petition. Effectual prayer is according to his will.’
And talking about effective prayer, here is possibly one of the most effective in all the Bible, and is most assuredly one that we can base prayer for ourselves and others on. It come from Bruh Paul’s opening remarks to the church at Colossae. Let’s read together: ‘Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, Since we heard of your faith In Jesus Christ, and of the LOVE which ye have to all saints,
For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you (on your behalf) a faithful minister of Christ; who also declared unto us your LOVE in the spirit (an affection for others). For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father which made us meet (qualified us) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in (the) light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated (transferred) us into the kingdom of his dear Son (the Son of His LOVE): In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.’ (Col. 1:1-14)
Wow! That was a whole sermon there from Bruh Paul, interspersed with words of fitting prayer for all and sundry. (smile) So let’s see what we can gain from it nuh. To begin with, Bruh Paul apparently did not know the Colossians personally, and it was his fellow servant in Christ, Epaphras, who began the church in the small town of Colossae, while Bruh Paul was in Ephesus attending to the larger church there. However, he was very pleased to hear that they had found Christ and were being faithful to the truth of the gospel preached to them, which gospel was also bringing forth fruit in them, which it ought to, if anyone faithfully believes.
As the scholars say, ‘the gospel produces godly character and noble conduct in its converts.’ Now that’s something many of us ought to look at in our own lives. Do we show forth a sincere godly character and noble conduct, thus bringing forth worthwhile fruit on behalf of Christ? Many of us Christians don’t. And we need to know how very important those aspects of our lives are, for though we might preach the word, it’s our personal behaviour by which we’re mostly judged; to see if it aligns with what we preach. And unfortunately, many of us are like the hypocrite Pharisees; we talk the word but don’t practice it.
Anyway, Bruh Paul was glad to hear that they were progressing faithfully in their walk with Christ, and continually prayed that they might know God’s will for their lives ‘in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.’ And that, according to the scholars, is ‘an accurate perception into the true nature of all things, and the skillful application of this wisdom in practical situations.’
Again, Bruh Paul desires that they walk worthy of the Lord, bringing forth good fruit in all their endeavours, being productive in Christian service, continually coming to know the Lord better, while becoming spiritually stronger and stronger, and being strong and steadfast, persevering in their trials and tribulations, as well as longsuffering; bearing with the offences of others, but nonetheless still giving thanks and praise to God despite their troubles.
Now, that’s a simple rendition of what our Christian lives ought to be about, and therefore our prayers should be based on those basics, both for ourselves and others, so that we can walk worthy of our wonderful God and Saviour Jesus Christ. And I pray that we’d all review our faith walk in Christ and pray that it will become better. This lazy-day Saturday, the last in June, is ideal for doing that! (smile) Much LOVE!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 26 June 2026 Romans 16:17.
Romans 16:17. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark (note) them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
And after the big midnight storm, Friday opened up somewhat cloudy, but by midday has turned into a hot, sunshiny day. That did not stop our Friday Mantra from rising up to heaven: ‘TGIF! Thank God it’s Friday and the weekend is here at last!’ We can’t seem to get away from that once the weekend looms near, neither can I seem to get away from these late buses in the last little while.
Today, I had some errands to run, and because I was up and about fairly early, I decided to do them sooner rather than later, however they took much longer than I expected. And brother, by 12 pm. the highways and byways were already clogged with traffic. I don’t know if that happened because it was Friday, but if it didn’t, I’m sorry for those of us who have to drive in the Greater Metro Area in the next few years, if they don’t first fix the current roads and then build some new ones, for everyday more cars and truck are coming on line, and the trucks are being driven like if they are cars.
But enough talk, let’s get to our topic for today. And it’s an interesting directive from Bruh Paul to the church at Rome, to avoid those who cause divisions. He writes: ‘Now I beseech you, brethren, mark (note) them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by good (smooth) words and fair (flattering) speeches deceive the hearts of the simple (innocent).’ (Rom. 16:17-18)
Ah mih people, right down through the years they have been people who set out purposely to cause divisions in the church, for their own benefit. Just look at the amount of different denominations we have in Christianity. It’s estimated that the number of Christian denominations globally range from around 200 distinct organized groups to over 45,000. And why is there such a great discrepancy in numbers? It depends on whether you count broad global traditions or individual, independent churches categorized by nation.
The fragmentation of the Christian faith is largely rooted in historical, cultural, and theological differences over time. However, demographers and encyclopedists categorize these thousands of groups into a few major branches: Catholicism, Protestantism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Oriental Orthodoxy, Restorationism. They each preach their own version of Christianity, and within those major groups, there are still many smaller divisions, each having some difference or differences to the overall teaching of the larger group.
So Christianity must be divided, which means it’s virtually impossible to mount a united army for Christ. For as Jesus tells us when the Pharisees claimed: ‘This fellow doth not cast out devils (demons), but by Beelzebub, (Philistine deity) the prince (ruler) of the devils (demons). And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. And if Satan cast out Satan he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand?’ (Matt. 12:24-26)
It’s impossible when one section or sector is eroding whatever the other tries to build. That’s why Christianity with so many divisions cannot work together to bring Christ to the masses, as it ought to. Too many little fragments are trying to do their own thing, instead of having one great overall movement. Consequently, Satan does not even have to divide us, for we’re already divided, he only has to conquer, which makes it ever so easy for Him and His evil cronies.
And that’s why the Lord instructed Moses to tell the Israelites to destroy all the people in the Promised Land: ‘make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.’ (Deut. 7:2b-4)
It’s like what happened to the people of Samaria, who were overrun by the Assyrians, and eventual intermarried with them and thus turned away from Jehovah God and worshipped all sorts of false gods. And another set of dividers in the early church were the ones called the Judaizers, who preached that according to the law of Moses, it was still necessary to be physically circumcised to receive salvation through Christ. But when they all got together in Jerusalem, Peter reasoned that because Jesus spoke of no difference between Jews and Gentiles, purifying the hearts of the Gentiles by faith, and through the grace of God all shall be saved. (Acts 15:1:11)
Under the New Covenant of Christ circumcision is no longer physical but spiritual, with the heart being metaphorically circumcised. It’s like the Lord said through the prophet Ezekiel: ‘A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.’ (Zek. 36:26) That is also why John warned of the Antichrist; those who deny that Jesus is Christ, or that denieth the Father and the Son. (1John 2:18-22)
In closing, I don’t know what to say, to make Christians come together so we can fight the enemy as one. All I can offer is that we go to the throne of grace through our Friday Chant seeking divine help to make it come true. Altogether: ‘Oh Lord, thanks for getting me safely through another week of work. It hasn’t been easy, but with your generous help, I made it through. You know our many serious problems are escalating instead of improving, and we desperately need your help to fix them. Heavenly Father, with your omnipotent help, and our trusting faith, we know that we can stand strong and steadfast and defeat the simmering unrest in our land.
So please give our leaders the wise guidance to handle these unexpected storms properly. And despite the anxiety and confusion of these ungodly times, help us to be responsible, and get sufficient fun, fellowship, rest and relaxation in these two short days off, so that we can be renewed and refreshed in soul, body and mind, to go back out next week and further your glorious kingdom by the good example we, your faithful believers set. So that our sinful world can wake up and smell the coffee, wake up and smell it sweet and strong! We pray this in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Amen!’
And as we keep saying, believers also need to wake up and smell the coffee, because out witness for Christ is not good enough! Much LOVE!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 25 June 2026 Matthew 6:14.
Matthew 6:14. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
And we’ve come to Thursday, the second to last day of our work week, a day that begun with some cloud and a little sun, but has now morphed into total cloud and some drizzle. But there’s no need to worry, for we can handle anything that comes our way through the amazing power of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who strengthens us. And all God’s people gave a loud and grateful shout of ‘Praise the Lord!’
And today we’ll look at a very interesting aspect of our faith, that’s forgiveness. Jesus made it very clear that forgiveness is one of the most important characteristics of our faith. But unfortunately, today, it’s not something that we practice as much as we ought. Now it all stems from Jesus coming to earth to die on the cross so that the Father could forgive us our sins. And consequently, Jesus clearly stated what the Lord desired of His people, in terms of forgiveness. ‘For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your heavenly Father forgive your trespasses.’ (Matt. 6:14-15)
Oh my brethren, it’s oh so clear that the Lord forgave us of our trespasses, as the psalm says, ‘As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.’ (Ps. 103:12) Now He desires us to forgive each other in the same spirit that He forgave us. But our current society is so evil and ungodly, with so much wrong being done against each other, that it’s sometimes difficult to forgive the wrongdoers, especially when they don’t appear to have any remorse over the wrong they committed. And believe me, like forgiveness, remorse in today’s society is almost non -existent. For we knowingly commit wrongs and don’t give a care who they hurt.
But the covenant still stands, as Jesus says: ‘Judge (condemn) not, that ye be not judged (condemned). For with what judgement (condemnation) ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete (use), it shall be measured to you again.’ (Matt. 7:1-2) In other words, we are not to judge or condemn the inner motives of another, or render a verdict based upon prejudiced information, neither are we to use ourselves as the standard of judgement, because it will be the same standard of judgement used against us. The only true judgement will come from the Lord on the day He chooses.
Jesus also bore down on the subject of forgiveness when He told the parable of the unforgiving servant; one who owed his master a lot of money and when he couldn’t pay it, begged for forgiveness, and the master forgave him the debt. But then the same servant had a fellow servant owe him a much smaller sum and when he couldn’t repay the debt, he refused to forgive him, and had him cast into prison until he could pay. However his fellow servants on seeing such unforgiveness went and told the master about it.
The master called him and said to him; ‘O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst (begged ) me: Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee? And his lord was wroth (angry), and delivered him unto the tormentors (torturers), till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.’ (Matt. 18:32-35)
Yes friends, our God is very serious about our forgiving each other, because He forgives us. As I heard one preacher recently ask, when has the Lord refused to forgive you of a sin eh? And the answer is NEVER! That’s the point the Lord is trying to drive home to us. If he could forgive us, so can we forgive our fellow human beings.
It’s as Bruh Paul wrote to the Ephesians: ‘And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.’ (Eph. 4:30-32) Yes my people, we grieve the Spirit of God when we refuse to forgive each other.
Then to the Colossians, Bruh Paul wrote almost the same thing: ‘Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies (tender mercies), kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing (bearing with) one another, and forgiving one another, if any man hath a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity (LOVE), which is the bond of perfectness.’ (Col. 3:12-14)
It could not get any clearer than that my brethren. James though adds a perfect ending to our discourse, when he writes: ‘So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgement without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against (triumphs over) judgement.’ (James 2:12-13) And that’s the gospel truth friends, mercy triumphs over judgement every time! So please, let’s practice it nuh, as it’s all for our benefit.
And just to show how generous and forgiving is our God, let’s declare our Thursday Blessings, undeserved blessings bestowed on us to help do His earthly work. As one strong and sincere voice: ‘I declare that I am blessed with God’s supernatural wisdom and receive clear direction for my life! I declare today that I am blessed with creativity, courage, talent and abundance! I am blessed with a strong will, self-control and self-discipline!
I am blessed with a great family, good friends, good health, faith, favour and fulfillment! I am blessed with success, supernatural strength, promotion and divine protection! I am blessed with a compassionate heart and a positive outlook on life! I declare that any curse or negative word that’s ever been spoken over me is broken right now in the name of Jesus! I declare that everything I put my hands to, will prosper and succeed! I declare it today and every day! Amen!’
And having made that declaration, it now behooves us to go out and use those blessings to help others, just as generously as the Lord shared them with us, so that they too can come to know and LOVE Him like we do! Much LOVE!

Today’s Scrip-Bit 18 June 2026 Matthew 17:20b.
Matthew 17:20b. If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove (move);
And after a rainy, rainy night, Thursday, the penultimate day of our work week, by mid-morning has blossomed into a bright and somewhat shiny day, with only a minimum of cloud cover. However it’s beset by a strong windstorm, one of those things that just magically appeared in our lives some five or six summers ago. Before that we never had so many summer windstorms, but with climate change and all the other stuff that’s happening in and around our besieged world, anything’s possible.
Now, we might not be able to change the world, but we can certainly change ourselves, so here’s some good news. I don’t remember where I got this information from, or if I’ve even shared it before, but recently I found it among the numerous pieces of paper sitting on my desk, and since we have nothing to lose, but so much to gain by trying what it suggests, I decided to share it. (smile) It’s about the healing of our body.
So please read with me: ‘Your Intelligence can guide the Life energy in your body – I began to teach my body and got marvellous results. Speaking words of Strength and Power – Praise the life in every part of your body. Pray, asking for strength to think only kind, LOVING and sincere thoughts about your body. Release all thoughts of weakness or disease. In steadfast faith, praise and bless the life energy, the cells of your body and mind. Realize Wholeness!!! See Wholeness!!!’
Wow! What a unique way to heal one’s body. But if it worked for the author, there’s no reason why it cannot work for us. However, we need to pay serious attention to these three words, ‘In steadfast faith…’ I believe that’s where the healing power comes from, and as supposed Christians we should have no difficulty in doing that, although many of us have a hard time mounting even a little faith. But remember what Jesus said to the disciples when they unsuccessfully tried to cure a child stricken with epilepsy, and they asked Him why.
‘And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove (move); and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.’ (Matt. 17:20-21) Yes friends, it’s like this overview tells us: ‘It illustrates that even a tiny amount of genuine, living faith—when rooted in God—has the power to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles and achieve profound results.’ And that’s the living truth!
And the overview further breaks down the scripture into three basic parts, that allow us to better understand it. Size vs. Potential: The mustard seed was known as one of the smallest seeds in the ancient Near East. The metaphor emphasizes that you do not need perfect or giant faith to experience God’s power. Faith That Grows: A seed isn’t a static, lifeless object; it contains life and the capacity to grow. Discussions across communities like Reddit Christianity, highlight how this faith can start small and continuously deepen through action and adversity.
Moving Mountains: Jesus stated that if you have faith this size, you could say to a mountain “Move from here to there,” and it would move, symbolizing the removal of impossible life barriers rather than literally changing geography. Ultimately, the teaching is an encouragement to look past your own doubts and focus on the immense power of placing even your smallest, struggling beliefs into God’s hands.’ And do we ever need to do that in these very crucial and critical times, when life seems to be speeding along the highway, seemingly ready to crash at any time.
Ah mih people, even a little faith is better than no faith, once it’s rooted in Almighty God. And there are so many examples in the scriptures where Jesus either applauded someone for their faith or admonished them for lack thereof. Let’s look at one instances of each. First off, remember when Jesus was on His way to heal the daughter of Jewish synagogue ruler, Jairus, and this woman who had suffered with an issue of blood for twelve years, got a Zeppo that if she could only touch Jesus’ garments she would be healed. Thus she fought though the crowd surrounding Him and most likely touched the hem of His prayer shawl, and was immediately healed. (Luke 8:40-44)
Simultaneously, Jesus began enquiring who had touched Him? The disciples were amazed, that He would ask that question with the crush of people around Him. But Jesus replied, ‘Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue (power) is gone out of me.’ (Luke 8:46) Eventually the woman, being afraid, fell down before Jesus and confessed that she had touched Him. Jesus then said to her, ‘Daughter, be of good comfort (cheer): thy faith hath made thee whole (well); go in peace.’ (Luke 8:48)
So yuh see what a li’l faith can do, it can work miracles if it’s rooted in God. And right after that some of Jairus’ people came and told him his daughter was dead, but Jesus said to him, ‘Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.’ (Luke 8:50) That’s the important thing my brethren, true belief in Almighty God that drives our faith.
Now here’s an interesting scene of the opposite reaction. This one we all know about Jesus and the disciples crossing the Sea of Galilee in a boat and a serious storm suddenly arising and the agitated water filling the boat. Obviously the disciples were afraid for it was possible that few if any of them could even swim. So they went looking for Jesus, who was asleep in the stern of the ship. They awakened him and said, ‘Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace be still. And the wind ceased, and there was great calm. And he said unto them, why are ye so fearful? how is that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, what manner of man is this (who can this be) that even the wind and the sea obey Him?’ (Mark 4:38-41)
Ah friends, it’s hard to fault the disciples, when we also have so many doubts and fears, especially when life is so uncertain these days. But the only way to conquer whatever is troubling us is by having true faith in our heavenly Father. And to show how wonderful He’s been to us, let’s declare our Thursday Blessings, undeserved blessings so generously bestowed on us by God to help us do His earthly work. So, in one strong and sincere voice: ‘I declare that I am blessed with God’s supernatural wisdom and receive clear direction for my life! I declare today that I am blessed with creativity, courage, talent and abundance! I am blessed with a strong will, self-control and self-discipline!
I am blessed with a great family, good friends, good health, faith, favour and fulfillment! I am blessed with success, supernatural strength, promotion and divine protection! I am blessed with a compassionate heart and a positive outlook on life! I declare that any curse or negative word that’s ever been spoken over me is broken right now in the name of Jesus! I declare that everything I put my hands to, will prosper and succeed! I declare it today and every day! Amen!’
And that declaration now behooves us to go out and use those blessings to help others, just as generously as the Lord shared them with us, so that they too can come to know and LOVE Him, like we do! Much LOVE!
…life is all about hope…belief…faith…and trust in Jehovah God…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 17 June 2026 John 16:33.
John 16:33. ‘These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.’
Ah mih people, it’s Wednesday, our second wind day, so let’s catch it if we want to continue to do good work for Jesus. And would you believe we’re on an early bus, even though I went to my church group this morning! Glory be! Let’s also give thanks for being alive to see another day, despite the high level of evil and ungodliness that’s currently permeating our world. And as we promised yesterday, if the breath still flowed through our body today, we’d continue to look at scriptures that give us encouragement in our everyday lives.
And I like how this overview breaks down the scriptures according to purpose. Beginning with this famous one for Strength and Courage, as the Lord continues speaking to Joshua, after making him the Israelite leader following the death of Moses. For the third time in four verses He admonishes Joshua: ‘Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest.’ (Josh. 1:9)Now you cannot get encouragement from a better source, but hearing it and putting it into action are two entirely different things, for when the enemy comes at you with all guns firing, sometimes you don’t even have time to think, much less be strong and courageous, but we’re expected to be thus, because we have all the parts and tools to do so.
Then, as per Peace and Anxiety, these verses from Philippians show us the way. ‘Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God. and the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep (guard) your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.’ (Phil. 4:6-7)
And what about a scripture for Overcoming Weariness? This one we all know and quote although we don’t action it as we ought to. Isaiah wisely informs us: ‘He giveth power to the faint (weak); and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.’ (Is. 40: 29-31) What a beautiful promise my brethren! But it doesn’t happen automatically, we have to hold our horses and wait upon the Lord.
Then there’s this section about Comfort in Hard Times. Here Peter exhorts us: ‘Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.’ (1 Pet. 5:6-7) Yes friends, Almighty God is our greatest source of comfort, as Bruh Paul explains in these verses from 2 Corinthians. ‘Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble (tribulation), by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.’ (2 Cor. 1:3-4)
Wow! What a blessed scripture! We comfort others by the comfort we receive from God Himself! Then as per Assurance in Trials, John enlightens us from his first epistle. ‘Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.’ (1 John 4:4) And that’s a known fact, Jesus in us is indeed greater than Satan that’s in the world. And Jesus confirms this when he reassures us: ‘These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.’ (John 16:33)
Oh my fellow believers, we certainly don’t lack for encouraging scriptures in the Lord’s Word, for that’s why it was written; to enlighten, guide, encourage, strengthen and comfort us. But it’s not always easy to do, and we first have to know the scriptures, then put them into action when the time comes. And here is one of the best examples in the Bible of putting scripture into action. It’s Bruh David’s reaction when the Philistines refused his help to fight with them against Israel, although he was then living in their territory, and he returned to his town of Ziklag and found it burned to the ground by the Amalekites, and all the women and children taken captive.
To make matters worse, although Bruh David had also lost his wives and children, his men were sorely grieved, and spoke about stoning him, blaming him for the disaster. (1 Sam. 30:1-6a) And how did Bruh David handle that frightening situation? The Bible tells us: ‘but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.’ (1 Sam. 30:6b) Yes friends, that’s what we need to do when things are really going badly; encourage ourself in the Lord our God, turn to Him in prayer with questions as to one’s direction, like Bruh David did. In that case, the Lord directed him to go after the Amalekites, (1 Sam. 30:7-8)
And he followed the Lord’s advice, went after the Amalekites and defeated them in a great victory and recovered all that he had lost… and more. (1 Sam. 30:9-12) Ah mih people, at times the Lord might allow life to become difficult for us, but He’ll never leave us in the lurch, that is if we turn to Him for guidance and encouragement. So, in the long run, the way we live this earthly life depends quite a lot on us. We have all the tools to make it good, but what good are tools that aren’t being used eh? No good at all! So let’s wake up and wise up to the seriousness of the situation and do better, for our sakes, as well as for Christ’s.
Now let’s go home declaring our Wednesday Wail, letting the whole world know of our wonderful position in Christ Jesus. As one strong and sincere voice: ‘Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday: I’m so glad to be alive on this Wednesday! Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday: Thank God the breath of life is still flowing through me on this Wednesday! I am halfway home. My hands are fixed securely on the plough, and I’m not turning back. I’m not looking back at the past, not focusing on what has gone before. But my eyes are fixed straight ahead; straight ahead to a glorious future with Jesus. Glory Hallelujah!’
And if we endure to the end, then, an even more glorious future has been promised, one we cannot imagine or comprehend. So, let’s be wise and endure to the very end, so that we can enjoy that more than glorious future together! Much LOVE!
…we don’t lack for encouragement…it’s right there at our fingertips…just waiting to be taken…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 15 June 2026 Psalm 99:5.
Psalm 99:5. Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
So, Monday’s come around again my brethren… and so quickly too. Yes, it’s a somewhat cool though sunshiny Monday. And can you imagine we are also in the middle of June? Another couple of weeks and June is toast, as well as half of the year. I don’t know what’s propelling the time to move so quickly, but, unfortunately, we cannot do anything about the speed with which the days and months are passing, so we therefore need to be alert and stick to the purpose and plan that God’s set out for our lives. Or, as the old people would say, make hay while the sun shines. (smile)
And today, we’ll look at a passage of scripture that we don’t pay much attention to, that’s Psalm 99, titled The Holiness of God. The psalmist begins it thus: ‘The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved (shaken). The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people. Let them praise thy great and terrible (awesome) name; for it (he) is holy.’ (Ps. 99:1-3)
And all of that’s the living truth my fellow believers! Our God is indeed great and mighty, with power that surpasses that of all others put together; meaning He is omnipotent, or has absolute, limitless power. Therefore, the people ought to sing His praises, and exalt His awesome and holy name, for He is indeed worthy of our complete devotion. Or as this overview says: ‘Our God is set apart, for a special purpose; is perfectly pure, unique, and in a category of His own, thus perfect in goodness and righteousness.’ And we certainly cannot doubt any of those descriptions of our wonderful Sovereign Deity!
But before we move on, here’s this interesting info, per ‘he sitteth between the cherubims.’ It comes from when God gave Moses the instructions for constructing the ark of the covenant. He told him: ‘And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune (speak) with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.’ (Ex. 25:21-22) So it’s no lie; the Lord definitely sits between the two cherubims. (smile)
Then the psalmist continues: ‘The king’s strength also LOVETH judgement; thou dost establish equity (uprightness), thou executest judgement and righteousness in Jacob. Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.’ (Ps.99:4-5) Ah friends, the Lord’s LOVE of justice and righteousness certainly cannot be denied. It’s renowned throughout the universe, for it’s one of the foundational elements of who He is. And He is most definitely worth exalting and being worshipped at His footstool on account of His perfect sense of justice and righteousness.
So the psalmist continues singing God’s praises: ‘Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the Lord, and he answered them. He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance (statute) that he gave them. Thou answeredst them, O Lord our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions (on their evil deeds). Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill: for the Lord our God is holy.’ (Ps. 99: 6-9) And isn’t that the indisputable truth? It surely is!
Now that last section of the psalm deals with the magnanimity of our God; His awesome and amazing capacity for forgiveness! And yes, there are consequences for our wrongdoing, but the wonderful thing about our outstanding God is that He doesn’t hold our disobedience against us, but casts them away and totally forgives us. ‘As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.’ (Ps. 102:12) That’s how completely the Lord absolves or exonerates us of our human transgressions.
Wow! Isn’t He the greatest! He surely is! So, basically the psalm is about making known to all and sundry, God’s greatness, His heightened sense of justice and righteousness, as well as His awesome ability to forgive. That makes Him pure, perfect, unique, holy and worthy to be exalted and worshipped! And now, since we’re so far from those goals, let’s go to the throne of grace, through our Monday Morning battle hymn, seeking divine aid to make us more like our wonderful God.
Altogether: ‘Our Father, who art in heaven, we, Your humble servants, praise and thank You this Monday morning for our jobs; jobs we sometimes don’t like, jobs that are unfair, difficult and even dangerous, but which serve a useful purpose; keeping lives and families together. We also thank You Father for the renewed vitality and enthusiasm You’ve wrought in our weary souls over the weekend. It’s that rejuvenation of spirit which now allows us to sally forth with confidence into the evil and ungodly world, to begin a new week of work, constantly buffeted and bombarded by the enemy’s evil schemes.
But heavenly Father, we’re not afraid, for we know we’re invincible, sure conquerors, once we’re wearing Your powerful, protective spiritual armour! We surrender our all to You, and humbly ask that You allow Your incredible aura of LOVE, the Holy Spirit to lead and guide all Your servants, as we go out to meet the enemy in battle. Fill us with steadfast faith, so that we can make worthwhile inroads into the enemy’s ranks, thereby furthering Your glorious kingdom. We pray this in the Holy Name of Your Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! Amen!
And friends, we won’t improve ourselves or our situations unless and until we put out the effort to do so, an effort that’s so far been sadly lacking. So let’s get up and turn things around nuh, for we have all the tools to do so! Much LOVE!
…it’s our bounden duty…to exalt and worship our heavenly Father…

Today’s Scrip-Bit 13 June 2026 Psalm 37:4.
Psalm 37:4. ‘Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.’
And so we come to Saturday; our lazy-day Saturday. And would you believe the ole fella did not laze around today…well not much. But I’ve been up and about fairly early, although I went to bed pretty late. I’ve even been out the street to fix my glasses. And despite all of that, we’re on an early bus today! Praise the Lord! (smile) So let’s get the ball rolling by offering up our Lazy-Day Saturday Prayer, with all sincerity and truth.
As one strong and earnest voice: ‘Lord, I want to be with You now. Please slow my thoughts and quiet my soul. Let my muscles relax, my breath deepen. You are here with me – Your peace and LOVE are present. I marvel to think You can’t be contained, that Your LOVE both surrounds and fills me. Thank You for this tenderness, Lord. I praise You for Your unceasing nearness. Increase my awareness of You today, that I may know You all the more. Amen!’
And if our prayer was sincere and heartfelt, then the Lord will soon be responding with a big slice of the peace of God, which passes all understanding, to guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:7) Now isn’t that a wonderful Saturday morning present, as you laze around the house doing little if anything, basically resting after a hard week of stressful work?
Of course! We could not want for anything better than a big slice of God’s peace and calm to ease our weary souls and renew, or better yet, improve our intimacy with Him. Oh my people, truly getting close to our great and wonderful God is the most important and delightful thing we’ll ever do, because there are so many wonderful rewards to that, as Bruh David says so well in Psalm 37. ‘Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.’ (Ps. 37:4)
And I like how this overview explains it: ‘”Delight yourself in the Lord” is a timeless invitation from Psalm 37:4 to find your ultimate joy, peace, and contentment in Him rather than in worldly circumstances.’ And that’s the gospel truth my brethren! When we concentrate on God’s will and purpose for our lives, we’re filled with a sense of wonder and astonishment at some of the things He will do for us.
And the overview breaks it down thus: ‘This beautiful phrase from King David carries a deep, two-fold meaning for your daily life: Finding Ultimate Joy: It means to make God the absolute delight and pleasure of your life. Instead of viewing faith as a list of strict rules, it’s about actively savoring God’s presence, goodness, and LOVE. Aligning Your Desires: The second half of the verse promises, “and he will give you the desires of your heart”. This doesn’t mean He acts like a genie granting every fleeting wish. Rather, as you grow closer to Him, your heart becomes so aligned with His will that your desires naturally transform to match what He wants for you.’
That’s why we keep urging and imploring us re finding greater intimacy with God. For that’s when we truly come alive, when our Christian faith truly becomes what it ought to be. And how do we do that in actual practice? Hear what the overview advises. ‘Spend Time with Him: Just like any relationship, delighting in God takes time. You can draw near to Him through prayer, reflecting on scripture, or simply being still in His presence. Trust and Let Go: The passage begins by urging believers not to fret over the wicked or worry about things outside their control. Delighting in God means trusting that He knows what is best for you and will provide for your needs.’
And yuh know that’s really all the Bible is about: having sufficient faith to put our sincere and total trust in Almighty God because we know, are convinced that He knows what’s best for us, and if we sincerely accept His will, then He will ensure we’re well taken care of. Look at the many scriptures that tell us that nuh. Jesus said it thus: ‘Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.’ (Matt. 6:33) Then Bruh Paul says to the Philippians: ‘But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory.’ (Phil. 4:19)
And no one puts it more beautifully than Bruh David in Psalm 23: ‘The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen!’ (Ps. 23:1-6)
Wow! No wonder that psalm is the most beloved in the Bible, because it lays out what the Lord can do for us in the likeness of a shepherd. And no one could do that better than Bruh David, because remember he began life as a lowly shepherd boy, before the Lord thrust him into greatness. So he knows perfectly what it’s like being a shepherd and the responsibilities it brings. That’s why the saying, you can’t write about what you don’t know about is oh so true. And also why the Lord puts us through our paces, so we can have personal testimony of what we talk about.
And in closing, all I can ask is that we wake up, because so many of us supposed believers are still asleep at the wheel, and in these crucial times, we desperately need to wake up and get wise and do as Bruh David so urgently beseeches: ‘Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.’ Ps. (37:4) Much LOVE!
…getting closer to God…growing intimacy with Him…ought to be the heartfelt desire of every believer…
